So i just got smash 64 for the first time today, i come from the melee scene. i love fox in this game, he's awesome. I was wondering how a good way to SH uair with fox is besides tilting up for the uair. any ideaS? also is there a gcube-to-PC coord so i could use it for kaillera and such? that'd be awesome.

i currently use the gcube controller its perfect

random techskill ive been messing around with. any ideas on other tech to improve on?

i know i'm badbadbad. thanks guys :D

also i got a game save a few min ago so items are gone.

Yes there are gamecube controller adapters for your computer. I don't know where exactly to get one, I'm assuming they have them on e-bay though. I use a n64 controller.

Nope you're gonna have to learn how to tilt to short hop uair. No easy c-sticks for this game. (Actually you might be able to use the c-stick on kaillera I'm not sure).

Fox is ok. Yoshi is cooler.

I wouldn't get used to using the c-stick for anything. I've tried adjusting some settings with the gcn controller to put c stick aerials back in. I made modifications in the plugins that allowed, for example, c stick left to input left and a at the same time, but if you're holding the joystick in any other direction, it uses that direction instead. Anyway, the best way to play this game is with it's actual home controller, the 3 armed, mutant N64 controller.

As for SHDL, just practice. For GCN controller, try sliding from Y -> B or even X -> B if you can manage not to click the A button. If you're using an N64 controller, it's a lot easier to slide from Left C -> B. Just keep trying though, you'll get it.

SHDL is all about lasering as soon as you leave the ground. So slide from jump to b to shoot the laser asap. Then just get the timing of that PEW PEW sound down

I can do full dashing SHDL like 50% using this method

I would also practice doing a SHL as low to the ground as possible.

Also watch this and practice all the stuff in it:

yeah i just use X for all my jumps, it's hard to do it fast enough i haven't had sucess yet.

but **** thanks for that video, awesome techskill. are those combos pretty limited to falcon?

also nice fox ballin :bee:

Also, what are shine's best advantages? assuming your shine cancelling i mean. like what are the best followups for it?

That's not my fox in that video ... not sure if that's what you meant or if you've seen my other videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/ba11in41ife

Stuff like fair -> fair, or the tent stuff will work on most characters at the right percent. Same with the dair and jab combos. Keep trying stuff out and you'll see what works.

Shine -> jab is a good follow up, but hard to do. Shine -> shine or shine-> grab work if they miss a tech (or you can do shine shine as a gimp off the stage).

Also A$ yeah you want to do it as soon as fox leaves the ground. After extensive research (messing around for 5 minutes) I have determined that there is 1 frame where you will jump but not shoot your laser. However I couldn't do this with button sliding, only by using 2 hands.

my tip is to forget about melee, this game works different. Dont try to play 64 fox as melee fox

another tip: forget about techskill and play a lot so you gain experience. techskill alone wont make you a great player

nah was referring to your other matches. and lol well i'll try. the melee fox playstyle is so fun, it can be applied in a different yet still awesome same way in this.

I thought pressing B too early and no laser coming out means you pressed B during the jump animation?

If your fingers at that fast ... ~_~
I was watching PC play Fox like Melee at Apex. He beat me, but I'm going to john about rust all day hahaha

He's quite good though. Melee really helps with getting grabs I found ...
