Information:

Fragile: Sayonara Tsuki no Haikyo (フラジール ~さよなら月の廃墟~, Furajīru Sayonara Tsuki no Haikyo?, lit. "Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon") is an upcoming role-playing video game exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. It is being developed by tri-Crescendo, the people responsible for the music in games like the Baiten Kaitos series and Eternal Sonata, and the team at Namco responsible for PS2 RPG's Seven: Molmorth no Kiheitai and Venus & Braves. It will be published by Namco Bandai Games and its controller will be that of the Wii remote. Any other controllers will be mentioned later on, if any, once more information has arrived regarding this game. However, it seems unlikely.

The Fragile website was fully opened on November 26, 2007 and was updated again as of June 27, 2008. The game is expected to be released in Japan in 2008; no date has been set for its release in any other region as of yet.

Synopsis:
Fragile is set in a post-apocalyptic near future world that has lost its light and is now covered in a miasma of sorrow. Almost all the world's population has vanished, and the cities have been left abandoned in loneliness and silence. The buildings are all vandalised and everything, from hotels to carnivals, are rusted or overgrown with vegetation. The game places the player in the shoes of Seto, a young boy.

Seto wanders the world, searching for survivors and the answers behind the disappearance of everyone else. Seto also searches for a mysterious girl named "Heroine"; as of now, what her role is in the game is currently unknown. New information has surfaced that "Heroine" is now named Ren. She has white hair and has a bright personality. A seeming contrast to what the world is. New information has been revealed, that shows two more characters are part of Seto's party. They are Sai, a girl whose hair covers her right eye and meets up with Seto later on in the storyline, and Kuro, a boy who is also exploring the ruins of the world. His character seems to be play a bigger part in that he searches specifically around the Tokyo Tower area. He attempts to find the location depicted in a picture he holds dear and that finding this place will help reveal the past that he has forgotten, much like Seto.

In Seto's quest he must deal with ghosts and demons that lurk within the ruins of the hollow and forgotten cities. Despite this, the producer of the game insists that Fragile is not a survival horror in the same vein as Silent Hill or Sanity's Requiem, rather it will focus on the epitome of "human drama" in an aftermath of a desolate world and finding others as well as adventuring through the rubble and fiends in the wasteland of a forgotten planet.

As of now, its been revealed that the world of Fragile will be filled with objects, wall sketches and short stories for the player to examine and read. Each artifact holds the memories of its former owner, and offers back story and hints to the player.

Gameplay/Elements:

The Wii Remote is used as an aid in exploration. Seto has access to a flashlight, controlled by the Wii Remote, to illuminate his surroundings as well to solve puzzles and interact with the environment. The flashlight is also used to uncover hidden enemies and can act as a weapon against them. Seto also has access to a metal detector that the player can use to find various items hidden on the ground, as well as a microphone that picks up sounds through the mini speaker. Hidden enemies can be detected this way by picking up their sounds. (Basically, its hunting those before they prey on you.)

New information has been revealed explaining more of the system's combat system. The game transitions seamlessly into battle as you face off against an assortment of deadly creatures. Some of these predators even move in packs. When in battle, you keep using the nunchuck to move your character around, and use buttons on the Wiimote to perform attacks. You have to select your weapons based off the current enemy.

Some of the objects the player finds can be used as weapons. In released screenshots Seto is seen holding a simple twig, though its use is also currently unknown. This game's weapons seems to be based on real world properties.

A big element, if not the biggest, is the Moon. The role has not been determined as of yet to the public. Although now that there are screenshots showing that Seto's world has a day and night sequence, it could be that the moon brings out the enemies in public places outside of the dark caverns lying underground.

Promotion:

A competition will be held where readers of gaming magazines can send in their own sketches and short stories to be included in the game. This will probably affect the tide of the story's novelty.

My Personal Comments:

I will put more of my personal opinions about this game soon. The only things I can say are that the music for this game is beyond extraordinary and the graphics in the game are really admirable. Though its very generic, as seen in the hand-drawn artwork, with the effeminate protaganist, it translated well on to the television. Overall, the presentation and tone of the music, the graphic design, and the plot are well balanced together. If you've listened to part of the soundtrack revealed so far on the game's site, you will be moved. Just go to the official website and listen to the song playing on the main screen from beginning to end, and you will get chills (in the good kind). Its eeriely beautiful and resembles that of a tragedy with a rather passive and gentle, but nonetheless, satisfying end. That's just me though. From what's being given to the public, its a must-have already. But we will wait for the gameplay elements and more screenshots and etc. to really give this title the star power it deserves. "Alone in the Dark" has been critiqued as incomplete and unsatisfying, though hyped up when it was first announced, so waiting is the best thing to do at the moment until we get more information from reliable sources concering this title. However, since its set exclusively for the Wii, the staff will be fully committed to it, making sure it will be top-notched when it will be released. This thread is a place to talk about this game specifically and to give your voice about it. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk about it or even brawl with me. I'm happy, and honored, to oblige.

Thanks for taking the time to read what's been said and I hope you will support this game, more and more of course, when it has shown it has really captured you (and your wallet lol). Here's hoping to an import version coming to us very soon. I will put the names of supporters for this game if you request so in the column below.

O, he was referring to Nintendo Power. There's also a new Wii Castlevania, but its truly bizarre, because its a fighter genre like Soul Calibur, Tekkan, and of course our Super Smash Brothers.

Nonetheless, this thread is for support of Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon.

What's wrong with Baiten Kaitos?!!

Also, the team that worked on Baiten Kaitos was Monolift Soft, which is now bought by Nintendo. The people who are making this game only did the music for the two Baiten Kaitos games.

So, I hope this doesn't turn you away Cat Fight. Please reconsider.

*Also, new stuff has been added as of today, June 27, 2008. There are tons of new screenshots and fresh information has been revealed. There are two new characters that come along in this busy day of Wii updates. Here they are below. I will post the first two characters that were revealed as well, now that we have great artwork of them too.

The main protaganist, Seto:

Well, I must say I am a big fan of the artwork and now the music. Visually, it looks amazing. I hope the gameplay is a match. :"}

In all honesty, I didn't enjoy Baten Kaitos as some may have. But really I'm probably just being picky.

Either way, from what I've read/seen this looks like it could turn out to be pretty **** awesome. Don't worry, I'm keepin' an eye on this title.

Will this be at E3?

O right Andydark. And awesome, I'm glad your still supporting this Cat Fight. In all honesty, I don't know if this game were to ever be shown at E-3, but I imagine it would. It has a really big development team and since their games have all been published in the USA, I don't see why this game won't be the same.

To be honest, since the PS2 got all the great Japanese RPGs, and since the Wii is just a step in advance of that system with their graphics, I can imagine the Wii getting a lot of great games, normally not released out of the Japanese shores like Fragile. ^-^

*PS: I'm updating the main information post today. Woohoo!! First day I work on this thread, its got some people. The second day new things appeared and now today, I can finally add even more information from other sources. This game has been in our favor.

Promising is a good thing. It's better than overhyped, which this game is not at all. :D

**Good news guys!! I did some song grabbing and I managed to get a downloadable form of the main song from the website!! Also, when I unlocked it for sound editing, I found out there was a secret second song playing afterwards. Its locked on the main site, but its unlockable if you can manage to get the song and encode it. I don't know, I'm playing around with it. I have the first song ready, but I don't know to encrypt it back and encode it so I can export it to my website. Shoot!!
