This is assuming this is any neutral platform stage, it doesn't really matter as long as it has at least one platform above the stage.

The blobs obviously represent characters, I labeled the green one as peach, but I suppose it could be any character with a fast sheild grab.

OK, so in an average match when I see this situation, 9 times out of 10 I think fox is going to run off the platform, fast fall, back air/lcancel the peach/whoever. For a long time, this technique worked A LOT and seemed ridiculously good, especially factoring how you can ledgehop -> waveland into it on yoshi's story.

Someone I play with pretty often noticed this too.. and when they are in peach's position they started expecting it and realised they can actually pull off a sheild grab, even considering how fast fox's bair is when fastfalled/lcanceled, or even spaced.

So the mindgame is after they are expecting that back air nonsense, they obviously have to have their sheild up, and be facing towards the middle of the stage, right?

So what I do is drop below the platform, and grab them and I'm just like...

if you l-cancel the bair you should be able to shine before you get shieldgrabbed
and shine -> grab on shields = ****.

i would platform drop a nair or bair into a shine into more shield pressure.

Depends on how late you bair, if you wait, the shieldstun will prevent a SG, but if it's early then you might suffer a grab before you get a chance to shine

This is true. Also take into account good Peaches just CC dsmash you. When you are above them is the most opportune time for them to hold down.

At what % can they CC an up-air? I fall through the platform and up-air a lot lol. Probably not a great idea...

She can still D-smash your foot while the hitbox is out and if she CC's the hit

But yeah you're right. If you max space it it whiffs. It also helps if you have "away" momentum so you don't land right in front of her after the bair.
