Some days, I believe that the spirit of video games died a while back. Some days I think that people don't ever play the game for the lulz anymore. It saddens me to see that so many people are worried about AT's, attack priorities, tier lists, it wasn't always like this. There was a time when smash was about hitting people with Falcon Punches, hitting them with silly items. But now, it seems that the ivory towers of those who play competitively overshadow those who wish to brawl with honor, with integrity, for the lulz. The lulz were always worth it, no matter what the cost. Even if you had to go and add that extra "umph" to your kill opponent, be that Bairing them off the blast lines and you going with them or by throwing a crate at them, sending them flying, or having a Star Man appear right before them, but before you hit them with a fully charged smash. Even with all this, I still play for the lulz. I haven't forgotten, I hope you haven't either. The money, the AT's, your main's tier list placement, that's not important, the lulz are. You think I'm crazy for wanting to do it for the lulz, not to win. I think your crazy for not wanting the lulz at all.

Yeah, it does actually make me laugh that people take Smash seriously and scoff at those who play with items and such blah blah.

Still, I bloody agree that Smash is serious business! Although it's a horribly uncompetitive franchise, kind of because it was never designed to be competitive. I got more than enough fun from it playing it casual style.

Still **** the lulz, only go for them if that's what you enjoy.

this is a competitive forum, simply leave, and you'll never have to hear about tier lists again.
some enjoy the competitive edge more.

Or you could just avoid the forums that focus on tiers and tournament play.

C'mon, guys, am I the only one here who leans more towards the lulzy side of Smash?

Go away Sakurai.

In all seriousness, I think it is really dumb not to ever want to play with items and all that fun and stuff. But sometimes people just want to show off their skill, an find that more fun.

Same here :).
It's so funny when you try wavedashing when you're like way too close to the edge. You end up offstage and die .

Or when you throw a mine and accidently step on it in Hyrule Temple xD.

I do lulz stuff in friendlies, like suciding knee on an oppenent whens he helpless.

Tourney matches are a different story, DON'T CAMP IN FRIENDLIES is my number 1 rule.

Best. Match. EVAR.

Also, Final Destination, two Jigglypuffs, Rollout only. Me and my friend tried that, and we laughed like idiots the whole time.

Whenever we feel down (sometimes we do it even when were not) we do MANLY DOUBLES Ganon/Ganon vs Falcon/Falcon or any combination thereof.

It works.

Thanks for that, all but you Grunt. I play competitively. I'm in the OTL for tourneys, but some times I go and play friendlies in the New Members Arena and it's all "let's be competitive" personally, I don't like using items, but sometimes there fun. And yes, Ganon/Ganon friendlies are epic. And Grunt, f**k tier lists. I just don't like it when people play for the sole reason that there character is a high tier making them think there great. Where's the fun in that? It's a video game.

Exactly my point.

Oh and I like my Ganon vs Bowser better.
Seems like I space his fair extremely badly (I'm way too used to Marth's weight)
... And jump right into my brother's charged f-smash .

That might be one of the most hilarious **** when it happens like 3 times during a 4-stock match xD.

Corneria > Final Destination for that purpose. =P

Yay ramps!

But seriously, I think everyone has to play for the lulz every so often. If you don't, that's slightly inhuman.

I've never played competitively, so I pretty much always play for the lulz. But sometimes more than others.

Usually when I'm playing Melee, it's more serious. But I still like Melee much more than Barwl. Just 'cause you're making it harder and going for a more intense match doesn't necessarily mean it's less fun. For me, it's more fun.

Only Falcon dittos/FFA's with knee, dair and B-moves allowed and smash balls on are lulz. Otherwise I rage over the items.
Knees, spikes, punches, and roadkill.

I'd pay full price for a game that offered just that.
