Got a CD.

It was in FLAC. I want to play it in my car (car plays music from a flashdrive), car don't like stuff that's not mp3.

So I'm all like "ok, guess this is an excuse to go look for a FLAC converter and see if doing all this lives up to the hype."

So here I am, just askin for suggestions.

You'll need Ubuntu for my method. If you're not an Ubuntu guy, now might be a good time to experiment with it. :)
Why is it that every post I see from you in the cafe room is you trying to lure people into using Ubuntu. Such an easy fix like this requires no new operating system.

Here's what you do:

Get audacity from here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You'll need the LAME mp3 encoder, here are the instructions:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3

and yes, you can convert multiple files at once. Audacity also has a very nice meta data editing feature in case you want to edit stuff.

=\

You confirmed what Tom said but didn't tell us whether our suggestions (mainly my suggestion and LuigiToilet's suggestion) fixed the flac problem.

EDIT: Your stereo is much alike that thing I saw in Spy Kids a long time ago, the kid's watch could do anything but tell the time. That's just unheard of :chuckle:

Windows Vista is way better, at least games actually work.

You just confirmed you know very little of Operating Systems and that you've never used Linux.

How should Linux be able to run software made for Windows!! Try running GParted on Windows. Office for Mac on Windows. It just doesn't work.

If lovely Microsoft would al least document their API, it would be a different story.

Sorry, but I had used Ubuntu for well over a year. Way to assume things, just because you use Ubuntu doesn't mean you're completely knowledgable about Operating Systems.

So, the Apple smugness exists in Linux too!

I assumed that you would know that you can't run windows software on anything that isn't windows.

I won't say I'm a master at operating systems, but I know that simple fact.

I am a full master of Operating Systems, why do you argue with me?

Master of being a troll is more like it.

get lost. All I did was point out an option in linux. (some people are linux users...) If someone's not a linux user, then they can use one of the other links supplied.
