this topic is declared over. It's unanimous that FS's are fair. except for the minority
Go away and troll the Ashley thread or something
Some of us aren't talking about the fact that it's an item
Really? Point out where the hell it is on the Items page on the Dojo.
^ agreed

copic tosed
Go troll somewhere else.
stop arguing about a game that hasn't been released. part of the reason items were banned was because of exploding capsules and crates. who knows what will happen with this game's competitive ruleset

oh yea and that post about putting smash bballs on solely for the purpose of playing as ZSS and then ignoring all others is the most stupid thing ive heard since I heard a white guy sing soulja boy
..That's not at all the reason. That's like saying G&W's Judgement should be banned for the Freeze or the Bat-like prospect.

I need to advise you that you're not a gangster by saying White people are guy for singing a rap. Besides, Souldier Boy is a ***got. Common's where it's at
HEY GUYS,

LOOK ONE THREAD BELOW YOU.

Also, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION.

Any real people that play in tournys and play for money will tell you that the randomness of a final smash is something they wouldn't want to deal with SIMPLE AS THAT. With 100$-500$ on the line do you want to lose because of some item
100-500 dollars is lol.

By the way, that means G&W should be banned for having a move that can randomly OHKO, Freeze, burn, or do 1 damage to you.

Not really. You can use the judgement hammer anytime you want to. It is innate ability and so it is not a question of "which opponent randomly gets the better advantage because the ability appeared next to them or while someone was off the stage/dead" especially sense the judgement hammer is not that good unless it is a 7 or higher. Items have what we call an off button. Getting rid of most of the random elements in smash is to get rid of items so tournies do. In tournies, it is much harder to ban strats and movesets than it is to ban other things. Not every judge can see if someone used a judgement hammer or not at any given time. In hierarchy, it is easiest to ban to hardest: extras, stages, characters, character movesets.

In short, Game&Watch's judgement hammer is an actual move (even with its regretable randomness) while items are things that randomly spawn in location and time (doesn't help that some are also random in effect). No one use the "Final Smashes are moves" arguement because they are not. They are "personalized hammers" or items that have a different animation and effect for each character. Either way, they are items no matter how "central" they are to Sakurai's "vision."

If they're items, like I said, point out where they are in the items section on the official dojo.

Why can't smash balls be optional? Before you start a match, if both players agree to having smash balls in, they're in, if both agree to not having them, they're out. If they conflict, you flip a coin. This way everyone gets their way, at least most of the time. So many people want smash balls in, this shouldn't be much of a problem. Also, this prevents people from basing their entire strategy on smash balls.
