Favorite character (First two are the favorite and then there's no particular order after them)

Terra (as if you couldn't guess lol)
Zidane
Mog from VI
Cid from VII
Vincent
Celes
Edgar
Kefka
Ultros
Cloud at times (in the beginning of VII he was jerk and AC ruined him completely)
a lot of characters from IX
Fujin
Quistis
Selphie
Warrior of Light
Jecht
Auron
Lulu
Rikku
Laguna
Aerith
No Squall :(
I definitely love Mog (he is my favorite) then I would say Celes then Terra.
But I really loved Shadow as well..... well ff VI just had a very likable cast lol

Squall was an *** throughout the game.

And even then, his reason for being a loner was stupid.

And then the romance plot was so... mediorce. He went from being annoyed by Rinoa to totally obessed with her.

But I do like Kingdom Hearts Squall if that's any constalation

Meh, it's really not the highlight of the game. It's better than FFI, but worse than the rest of the series as a whole imo. The main thing about the DS version is that the story is almost exactly the same as the Famicom version, so even though there are characters and stuff, there is little character development.

That totally doesn't count. This is the FF thread, not the KH thread lol.

The only FF game I ever played is FFIV for the DS. I guess that, by default, it's my favorite and most hated FF game then. It took me a bit to remember to save save save!, but it's cool. I'd like to play the SNES version though (an excuse to get my SNES out again! :)).

I liked Squall.

I guess it's because I could relate to him in a way...
Squall's a lot easier to relate to than Cloud...

Unless you are insane and think you are someone else...

But than again, if you do, you wouldn't realize you think your someone else because you'd be insane in the first place.

Therefore, even IF you are like Cloud and think you are someone else, you probably would be able to relate easier to Squall because you wouldn't realize it in the first place.

Nice analysis.

Fanboyism lameness aside, I really did think Final Fantasy 7 was the best. And in comparison between FF10 and FF12, I thought 10 was way better. Much better music, much better cast (minus Khimari), better storyline, better gameplay (and blitzball!), worse ending :(.

FF 7 > FF Tactics (PS1) > FF6 > FF9

For me. lol

X had a very good storyline... but overall the villains and antagonists weren't very good.

Compare Sin to... Kefka, Sephiroth, etc.

Plus the ending was just pretty bad, with Tidus just disappearing, I didn't like it. But yeah, overall it was a great game.

Vorguen, I've beaten FF X but others haven't. I suggest you put spoiler tags to avoid any flaming and angry people.

It's been 8 years. If they haven't beaten the game, it's their own fault.

8 year old games don't need spoiler tags.

Every Tactics game is completely different. PS1 Tactics was amazing, f'ing great in every way. The FF Tactics Advance for DS was pretty lame, they added a lot of new stuff and really just noobed it out. It wasn't nearly as fun, the cast was not that cool, and the storyline was bleh. The classes were whatever, and the fights were ANNOYING because of this "rule" system where they banned certain actions a round at the expense of losing your character for that fight.

FF Tactics Advanced 2 was the same way as 1 but they toned that down a bit so it was "doable"

Then the remake of FF Tactics for PSP is still good, but they changed a lot of the things that made it such a great classic and after playing PS1 FF Tactics sometimes it made you a little sad.

Although they added a few new cutscenes, characters, and plotlines to it so it is good to play WHEN you beat the original Final Fantasy Tactics.

The summary: Final Fantasy Tactics is a GREAT game. Play the original one. It's also the MOST challenging and original Final Fantasy of them all. And the funnest. Only thing 7 has on it is a perfect storyline.

The FF series has some of the best music I've ever heard in my life ( with the exception of ff12)

ff12 was completely average in every single way,

music = okay ( because it wasnt nobuo)

characters = 10 years from now if you ask "HEY REMEMBER VAAN, ASHE, PENELO, BALTHIER, BASCH, AND FRAN?"

people will think your referring to the members of the backstreet boys

battle system = about as much fun as playing jacks, except with jacks you actually participate

storyline = taking down an empire, kill everything in the way blah blah, again completely average

the only thing i liked about this game is how cute the moogles looked

thats about it

i think my favorites were ff7, ff6, fft/ff8, and ff9

I was wrong, any game that's over 8(?) months do not need spoiler tags. Oh well.

And Vorguen, if you still want to know how to put spoiler tags, they're just like using quotes. Just replace [ quote] with the word spoiler.
Off-topic: It's probably just safer to put spoiler tags just in case. Someone at GameFAQs told me his account was suspended because he said Darth Vader was Luke's father. lol

On-topic: Out there, but one thing that disturbs me about the series is the fashion. Female characters seem to get decent fashion, male characters are just.... lol.

...Wait, what?

Dark Vader is Luke's father???

...No...that's not true! That's impossible!

Dark Vader KILLED Luke's father, Obi-Wan said so himself!!!

Haven't you watched the first movie? I haven't seen the second one yet, but I'm sure someone can't magically become someone else's father in it.

How dare you fail to capitalize the title Final Fantasy!

I'm in love with Final Fantasy IV on DS.

BEST REMAKE EVAR

I didn't like the graphics. The original was too great. I'll have to try it before I can make a decision.

ROFL @ "Dark" Vader
OMFG, I have no idea how I could have made such a horrible typo. It will never happen again, and I will be forever ashamed.

The only thing I don't like about FF7 is the bad image "fanboys" give us. I think it's the greatest Final Fantasy, with the greatest cast, the greatest storyline, the greatest videos, greatest music, greatest everything.

In fact, the only game that comes close in FUN is Final Fantasy Tactics for me.

By the way Buzzsaw, play FF9. It's very good too, if you can get around a few of it's weirdness. It has probably the best music of any final fantasy tied with FF7 (and maybe FF6).

I also love FF5. It had the worst story on the planet of any game, but it had the best gameplay. ^_^

I never liked FFVII's battle system, as I could never get the hang of Materia, and the amount of backtracking and lack of hints as to what to do next really irritated me, and if you hadn't played for a couple of months, there was no way to find out what to do next if you had forgotten.
The story and characters were great though, and I really want to get further on it (I've only just reached Zack's hometown after fighting Reno and Rude on Disc 1 XD).

The best game for me is FFIV, it had great characters, a good story, and my favourite fighting system.
The only problem is that it is really short for an RPG game, but that may just be the fact I never level characters up.
I haven't finished it, but the difficulty has suddenly bumped ridiculously high
I'm level 36 and fighting all the Four Fiends in the Giant of Babil, and there's no way to get any items/ get out of the giant. However, I'm pretty sure this is near the final parts of the story.

Apart from these, the only other FF games I have played are X-2, better basic battle system than FFVII, but the whole Dressphere annoys me, as does just having the same 3 girls in your party for the full game. The story is fantastic though, it's really gripping and left me in tea*shot*
