Luca Turilli - War of the Universe, It's a very epic song that only gets better the louder it gets. Gets your blood pumped and prepares you to engage in hand to hand combat whatever is near.

this is a particularly spectacular version of my current favorite song, New Born (well, pretty much. it is tied with 'Citizen Erased' off the same CD). It is the song that basically really got me into Muse, and the song that helped respark my interest in guitar. Matt Bellamy is my favorite guitarist simply for his masterful control of all those friggin effects. Take a look at that solo. The studio version alone is incredibly imaginative, and the version in this video is a lot different. He's an amazing improvisationist too. Amazing everything really. Composer, singer, instrumentalist, blah blah. anyways, the song and performance speaks for itself really.

very exciting. i haven't bought it yet but i've listened thru it a few times and i'm impressed with how far away they are getting away from the shadow of radiohead. they've become their own band, and they're so much more unique and adventurous than anyone gives em credit for, especially on the new CD.

Day in the Life by The Beatles is the closest to actual perfection anybody's going to get.

Oh, gotta say one thing.

IMO, ha, now I'm invulnerable!

If I had to pick one then it would be Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing. That song just has it all and I'll teach my children to play it and that they learn it to their childeren ect. That song just deserves to be remembered for eternity.

btw, I wonder how many people here actually know Sultans of Swing, because it's pr'tty ole'd. But timeless nonetheless.

I <3 movie soundtrack when they're well executed.
My favorites are therefore :

Amélie Poulain - Comptine d'un autre été, l'apres-midi
Baudelaire Oprhans, A serie of unfortunate events - The Marvelous Marriage

Everything written by either John Williams or Hans Zimmer is also great. (EDIT : Michael Giacchino, who did ''The Incredibles", also makes outstanding band scores)

~

Then comes my music taste. Even though I'm more a hardcore fan, latin jazz is unbelievably what touches my heart.

Arturo Sandoval, Tito puente, Dizzy Gillespie, and many more are my all time best musicians.

I wonder why nobody's said "The Lumberjack Song" yet...lol

I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night and I work all day!!
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch, I go to the lavat'ryyyy!!
On wednesdays I go shopping, and have buttered scones for tea!!
I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night and I work all day!!
I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wildflowers!!
I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars!!

(and so on.)
