a couple things.

first and most importantly, i think i saw like 3 shffls total after watching both matches. Shffl'ing is absolutely critical to falcos game, master it, love it, abuse it.

second your falco is really stagnant. work on using dash dances and wavedashing to make your movement more precise and to help with spacing and feint'ing approaches and mindgames

also, dont come down on top of your opponent with a aerial every time. like you do a lot of full hop aerials and when you get hit, you jump and then come straight down with a dair. this is very good, better opponents will do simple tactics such as wavedashing back to avoid your hits then punishing as they please. so yea, dont do that.

also, dont forward smash so much. it can easily be sheild grabbed, and laser->forward smash doesnt combo if they are on the ground they could easily get a shield up in time to protect themself.

so yea, for now, work on shhfl'ing, movement, and breakin bad habits.

uh sorry i might have confused you when i said "also, dont come down on top of your opponent with a aerial every time. like you do a lot of full hop aerials and when you get hit, you jump and then come straight down with a dair. this is very good"

thats a typo i meant this ISNT very good. My bad. Yea, full hopping over you opponents and coming down with an aerial every time ISNT a good way to play, sorry that was an unfortunate typo please understand lol.

anyway, after a laser when your opponent is grounded, start to either shffl or grab. Most opponents will shield instinctively after you laser them and thats why forward smash isnt good, its laggy and will get sheild grabbed.

if you do laser -> grab, you will likely get them every time. the only downside is, falcos grab pretty much suck so you probably wotn get a lot out of it, unless they are near the edge and you can throw them off. its low risk low reward for the most part.

if you laser->aerial, you're either going to hit them if they didnt sheild and can combo, or you're going to have to shield pressure. This is more risky than just grabbing because if you mess up sheild pressure by missing a FF or l-cancel, pretty much every char in the cast can **** you out of sheild with a grab or attack. so yea, if you decide to shffl, make sure you have your pillar game on point.
using a shffl after a laser is more rewarding if you do it right because it leads into more combos.

tl;DR
so yea, sorry about the typo, but constantly jumping/double jumping over your opponent ISNT good, dont do it. follow up approaching lasers with grabs or shffls.

First of all, practice L-cancelling and immediately shining. The Roy had quite a bit of time to escape during your pressure. After you get that down, start mixing up your SHFFLs. As JPOBS mentioned, jumping above your opponent isn't a good idea.

Your lasers are decent, but you need to improve retreating and approaching with them. Grabs work great out of the lasers, as do SHFFLs. Once you get get better and improve your movememt, you'll see there's an infinite amount of possibilities after your lasers.

Practice dash dancing and wavedashing, and learn how to combine the two. It'll improve your game greatly.

About that double jump backwards and phantasm onstage, yeah bad idea, just sweetspot it.

Falco, has an awesome edgeguarding game, so don't be afraid to D-smash, you get invinc frames, and it's a hell lot easier to time than f-smash

you sort of eased up on lasering through the match, and the Roy started to dominate the stage for awhile, use it to stay in control

D-throw yields like nothing, go for the u-throw and hope you catch their bad DI and make them eat your bair

Like 90% of the time you tech in place, you didn't get punished for it, but that's a bad habit to not variate

I'm going to guess you and that Roy are brothers? Or good friends? You both knew when to spot dodge and grab. Neither of you had amazing tech but it wasn't bad :) you should use more mind games. And I couldn't figure out why you were using UpB while still on stage. Usually that gets punished. Work on your approach. A great approach is either SHL to grab or use wavedashing as a mind game to get an opening. Laser and shine a bit more :) overall pretty good.

First and foremost dude, you really need to stop using the fire falco on stage during the middle of a match. You can get 0todeath that way.

It's more of a tech video (sort of.)

Great that you can L-cancel Falco's aerials. It's really important

One thing is just follow up on those dairs. U-tilt, waveshines, whatever just be sure to follow up, in real matches you should be able to land 0-60 on Fox easy, even if they DI.

It seems like you can't control the height of lasers very effectively, that'll give you a harder time with shorter characters.

Lastly, just work on your combos, great Falcos can pressure anyone no matter where they are on the stage or in the air. Don't be limited to just dairshinedairshinedairshine. It's okay to dair twice in a row or u-tilt.

Oh remember to JC those shines!

Ok ill give you actual advice than... if you DAIR using the C stick(like me, handicapp users) then alright you go to melee mode, put handicap on lowest for yourself and highest for whatever your gonna hit, i usually use shiek or captain falcon because they are gay *** hitboxes , set dmg ratio to 0.5, set items on highest with starman only and practice shield pressure against a starman opponent(starman replicates a shield) like shuffl nairs to shine to jc grab to a jab to shine to a dair to shine to a dair to a shine to a jab to a shine to a nair to a shine to a jc shine 2x to a grab.. whatever

but if you can dair using the analog, omg you are on your way to proness you go to 1p mode, spawn starmans and do it that way

gg

one of the biggest things i always work on is not combo's.. its becoming ungrabble.. because once im fuking grabbed by marth or sheik or falcon im fukeeeeeeeedddddddd

It's a matter of taste really. The real benefits is that C-sticking lets you control your DI better. For example, Peach floating left, but facing right and fairing.

If you don't choose to C-stick, it honestly doesn't matter as long as you don't feel like you have any control issues.

I personally use the c-stick for aerials.
Prevents me from double jumping on accident with u-airs
FF during dairs
Fairing...
and failing at ledgehop bairs.

I do use control sticking for SHBAWD with Doc however.
