Hi, Falco boards.

Now, I play Falco from time to time, and just about consider him an alt. Funny thing is, I've never spent any time on the Falco boards, nor do I know about any of Falco's ATs.

Sooo, I was wondering if there was a little critique those of you Falco experts out there could give me...
Even if I'm not a Falco main.

Now, I have no idea if I'm considered bad, good, okay or whatever. But I was hoping to find that out.

I have to sharpen my Falco so the next time my friends put their hands on my bread, I can properly punish them.

Sooo, advice, critique? =3

well....you are not horrible wth falco or anything, but i do suggest learning more about his moveset.
i saw a lot of mistakes, some were punished, some weren't.
just a quick list after watching the vid:

1.learn the KO %s. i saw that you hit him with an usmash at like...30%. know your KO moves and save them for when you need the KO.

2. more lasers. seriously. learn to SHL and SHDL. they help a lot, they racking up %, set up for more moves, refresh moves, etc.

3. sitting at the edge spamming reflector isn't gonna do much. especially since the move has so much lag, they can easily shield->punish. once a while is okay, not every time and definitely NOT 3-4 in a row.

4. dtilt is not such a great move. there are always better options than dtilt.

5. maybe roll a bit less

6. keep your spacing, try to hit him with your moves while being out of range so he can't hit you back.

7. end the CG with dash->sh dair. more damage than a fthrow and sets up for more chances to attack if they make a mistake.

i know there were probably more things you need to improve on, but those are the most basic. as for AT's, it's always better to learn them because i saw a couple opportunities where gatling combo would of helped, but honestly, basics>AT's at the level of play you are in right now.

Lol, I've always stuck to learning Link's basics, but I can't argue with a player who knows more about Falco than me! xD

Anyways, I'm not too used to spamming B because... yeah, Link's arrows kind of suck and are only good when cancelled.

But thanks for the advice.

I'll just bring up points that weren't brought up by XxBlackxX.

Laser moar. (I know he said it, but it's that important.
Jab is a great move. (and you can jab cancel into things like you can with Link)
Jab -> Grab is a great way to land a grab.
Chaingrabs: When you don't end them with a short hopped Dair, use the Gatling Combo or a RBPG -> Bthrow for offstage setups.

AT's you should know (go to the Q&A thread if you have any qusestions):
Gatling Combo
Reverse Boost Pivot Grab
Silent Laser
Boost Usmash
Jab Cancel
IAP (immediate aerial phantasm)

That's all I can think of for now, I hope to see you getting better with Falco!

You mean DAC? Yeah, I know how to do that but I don't know how to utilize it correctly. One way is Fthrow into it, I think? Help me out here, I'm a little lost. xD

The best way to get a kill with it is silent laser -> DAC. It can also be used to follow up a Dthrow on certain characters at certain percents.

Note: Fthrow is probably Falco's worst throw, Dthrow being the best (even on non-CGable characters).

Fthrow should never be used IMO. If you want to throw someone off the stage, dthrow will still do the job better and allows for better follow-ups.

Get the timing of the chaingrab down. In the first moments of your match where you performed a CG I noticed it was quite slow and could have been escaped I reckon. Anyway that will all just come with practice.

Learn the reverse boost pivot grab and its uses (switching direction in a chaingrab, etc)

Also, like the others said, MOAR LASERZ. It is why falco is top tier. Learn SHL and SHDL and their uses.

Get the basics down, learn about falco's moves and their uses. Then move onto AT's.
