No, young link didn't win Apex 2012.

..

Same thing with young link. He may have played a small role but 99% of it was done by peach. Young link Pretty much didn't do spit.
Not gonna bother with the political stuff, but... seriously? No one would seriously say that YL was 100% responsible for Armada winning Apex, but pretending that YL played a next-to-nothing role is foolish to the point of me thinking you must be trolling. Armada's Peach has never even taken a game off of HBox in tourney, has it? Yeah Peach did most of the battle, but even if you weight the six sets Armada won in bracket equally then YL did one sixth of the work (and I personally would weight Grand Finals slightly more heavily than his earliest bracket matches since they're the GRAND FINALS).

More on-topic, like others have said, Falcon is perfectly capable of winning a tourney, people said this about Peach and Puff before, etc. etc. Next thing you know people will be asking if Sheik can win a national in today's metagame. :p Just need a Falcon of a ridiculous caliber. IMO Hax or S2J can definitely get there.

Metal Reeper is right. At the current metagame, it is very hard for Falcon to win a national. Everyone knows Falcons tricks or at least have a general idea of what his whole structure is. Isai for one has dominated in the past due to his new view of falcon. But its been ten years now and falcons data has been summed up. low tier and some of the top tier characters still have a few tactics to be discovered.

Their is nothing new about falcon to be quite honest.

I think Falcon can still win a national. It just takes the right person with the right drive. It really comes down the to the player knowing all he can do, and going further. Just like Armada did with Peach, Just like Mango/Hbox did with Puff. And anyone else who used a character other than a spacie to win a large tournament.

Watch Hax or go through his thread in the Falcon threads. Falcon has some underutilized aspects of his game. Pivot aerials for one I feel like I don't see that often except from Hax (could be wrong) and they seem like a great punish on an opponent's approach off of a solid read.

@WarHawk I see pivot aerials from Mango all the time. He used them a lot at pound V.

@Bing. spacies don't usually win. Mostly floties nowadays.
Genesis-puff
Pound IV-puff
Apex 2010-puff
Pound V-falco
Genesis 2-peach
Apex 2012-peach (excluding YL).

1. Because there is no Falcon as good as Hax
Um

Uh

I'm trying very hard to figure out what you really meant, but I honestly don't get it.

???????
Hax is the best Falcon. The closest to him is S2J.
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
No other Falcon gets top 10 at an international.
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Metal Reeper, I think that the reason for all this is that you didn't say "other" in your first post... so they thought you were saying something analogous to "No Falcon is on Armada's level; it's not the character -- it's the players" and were confused (or amused) because Hax is a Falcon player, so there is a Falcon as good as Hax (hint: it's Hax).

Didn't Mango go Falco for some of his Genesis/Pound IV sets? This is a genuine question, I don't really remember any of his games except for both GF...

Why are you laughing when you were the one making a dumb post in the first place?

Read it again maybe?

@Anand
Even if that's what he meant, and even if we pretend like S2J doesn't exist, I have absolutely no idea how "no other Falcon is as good as Hax" has any relevance whatsoever.

Sure. Haha, most of the reason I posted was to point out to Metal Reeper why people were reacting the way they were (since he probably didn't realize that he wrote his post in a way that could be so easily misinterpreted). It seemed like he thought everyone was challenging what he said about Hax.

I actually noticed at Apex that a lot of people share this quirk. Every time you die and you're on the spawn platform you wipe your hands on your pants. Or when you kill someone.

I'm so dumb I don't understand what was dumb about it.
Please elaborate.
