You all should come down to HERB 2, it's gonna be another major vBrawl tourney with Brawl+ on the side. NC has a pretty bustling B+ community too.

Plus toasty's gonna be there. Everyone <3's toasty.

Anything in the summer is impossible for me, and no offense JC, but I wouldn't travel all the way to MD just for a "side tourney" :-/

Sig changed if anyone wants to keep up to date lol.

Make it so you can't tech Ganon's side b.

It makes the move worthless.

It's not fair that it's a high risk, low reward move right now. It was better in normal Brawl.

I'm not playing Brawl+ until Ganondorf is viable.

Yeah um...no.

He's still massively ***** by every top tier, extremely weak against camping, and can't even do much after he finally gets to you because one of his best moves is now worthless.

We don't make the game...They do ^...so complain to them, not us.

Besides if ppl couldn't tech it that's about 50% with no effort. It's hard to tech anyway.

No one has a zero to deaths in brawl+, players just have predictable DI. The game gets tweaked frequently. Fox used to be able to do 100% in less than 4 seconds but now it's reduced significantly.

Also...stop telling this to us, tell it to the smash workshop like I told you to here and on aim this past weekend -.-''

I don't have A game.

I have all games. I love playing everything.

Brawl + is just a monthly abortion. You guys are playing OG counterstrike. You know? Without the mouse turning?
Brawl is just a piece of $hit thrown out of Japan to us. It's a joke of a game WHAT THE **** YOUR CHARACTER TRIPS OVER. How you enjoy that is beyond me.

You liked brawl+ before Kashif ***** your balls off. What a shame. It's pretty pathetic. Enjoy playing what you like, and let me enjoy playing what I like.

and I'm pretty sure you were enjoying playing Brawl before I found out how to beat snake?

Complain about tripping, go ahead. It's the only reason you took a stock on me! lmao.

I don't wanna relearn the game every two weeks. When they release a real build, I'll play it.

Nah I actually stopped enjoying brawl after CoT4. Nice attempt to boost your ego though. I'm still confident that I can beat you in that trash game anyway.

That set was a while ago. You came to my dorm and we went even. Unless you drive 30 minutes to someone's dorm just to sandbag them.

Fair enough. They probably aren't doing anything to Luigi anyway.

That's silly. The fact that you think you could beat me, or Inui these days is BANANAS. I'm honestly more afraid to play Zucco, or Shadow's Wario.

I came specifically to play Kashif. No offense. I didn't need snake training, I needed ditto training. Which I got. It helped A TON. I attribute a lot of my recent success to his help.

Luigi is boring. I wanna play Sonic. v_v

That sucks, it's not very good right now.

We can't fix the sideB techable, its a side effect of us making the tech window actually based off of a frame count instead of a distance count to make teching actually reliable (before the fixed tech code, teching was hard as balls). Thats why we sped up the murder choke to still leave a guaranteed option of a jab and on amissed tech an ftilt. If they tech in place you can ftilt or dtilt, if they tech behind you the same stuff, if they tech away you can anticipate with a wizkick which hits like truck

also DM, less hatorade, more feedback and playing B+

Fine. Less noobs making the game, and more people like Silven and Ether?
A+++ feedback, will read again! You should go into customer service!

You know we we get feedback from everyone regularly right? I talk to Silven, Bum, Spammerer, sometimes Yes, and others all the time. We have a hidden user group here on smashboards which we are waiting on MLG_JV to translate over into a public user group where we can add/remove users without him as an intermediary. We put in requests to add people like spammerer (whom we work with all the time as an example) among many others, but it takes forever since we don't have control of the group till JV grants it.

So yeah, knowledge is power! Balancing a game is as easy at pie!

So because teching was considered "hard" in Brawl, it was made easier, which hurt Ganondorf a lot?

Teching isn't even hard in normal Brawl.

No, when we made changes to the buffering option and physics changes, it literally made it inconsistent and ridiculous. In vbrawl, due to the lack of hitstun, a hitstun / tumble state was so insignificant a true teching was rarely required. Given the range of utilt abuse above platforms in B+ and increased gravity, a minimum distance teching system actually made it impossible to tech in certain situations which was actually pretty ********. A frame based system was implemented which while unforuntately nerfed ganon sideB, also served to remove these untechable actions AND also removed multiple infinites from things such as footstools. So... yeah

Any other questions before I hit the sack? I know a lot of you are newer to B+ and prolly wonder some ****

It doesn't even hurt Ganon that much. So side-b is not as useful. It's a sad loss for the games most badass move, but life goes on. Ganon has a lot more going for him now then he ever did.

Considering that we're giving ganon another buff? And we're still working on him? Also, Side B is at least tech chase-able now.

I need to make an Official TX B+ crew thread. >:

TX is not stepping up its game.

I still disagree with auto canceling. In vbrawl, you have about 35-60 altercations per average high-level-play stock. In melee, you only had 1-10 (Not counting Lasers/turnips) But the tech skill required was immense. In both senses, it's balanced in skill. Whether it's speed, or smarts.

In B+, you make a slow *** approach, and use 2 moves over and over and boom, victory. The game's gravity doesn't allow for non-decay, and auto canceling everything. It defeats the purpose. Granted, reducing it is fine, but skill is important. When you give the same 1-10 altercation victory without the skill needed to keep a combo going like melee did, it becomes watered down.

Some people Like Vodka.
Some people like Chocolate milk.

Mixing them with stuff is fine, but I wouldn't add water to either.

The fact is, the general population of the heads behind Brawl+ shouldn't be programming and deciding balance. Programmers are hired to program in game design. You guys need directors. Real ones.

You guys are doing a fantastic job with the speed of the game, etc; the balancing, move set applications, adding applications is/are shambles. Know your limits.

EDIT: I like how people are telling INUI how ganon is. The kid's ganon is like the best in the region! Maybe country.

The problem is a sort of chicken and egg kind of design. To get these real directors that you wish us to have, we first require pro's uptake and support of B+ (and require them to be vocal and willing to put the time in to balance). However, you first need a solid product to get this interest. I know myself, and many other members of the WBR are ecstatic which B+ growth and uptake, and many high-value individuals interest in the project. This is where we had hoped to really add these individuals to the WBR to really polish up the game even further.

Also, as a note, prior to our moveset balancing, it was fairly obvious what our physics changes had done. While some characters improved, disparities were obvious. As an example, MK was easily 100x more broken than before. Our hitbox and frame speed modifications are fairly calculated and in most cases, targetted those characters who were extremely lacking in this disparate character climate. In so doing, we gave characters such as Link the proper tools at his disposal to allow him to preserve his playstyle while being a viable character design. You might question credentials, and while it is a work in progress, the results so far have been pretty **** promising (seriously go play link/CF/etc now, they doesnt suck :p).

Making this game with a respected playerbase isnt as simple as pointing a stick and making it work. Its been a long process and a LOT of work with some great players providing feedback throughout. We want more great players and always have our ears open to them and soon will have complete control over WBR admissions (we will have fancy name colors too – ooo lala)

edit: realized I didnt discuss auto lag reduction and all. I'll make another post about that a bit later, pretty sleepy now :p
