Ever had someone lie about tournament results before?

Souhh,

I found out about ssbpd

And I couldn't find myself anywhere, until I went into the OC3 results listing

So I'm scrolling through, having fond memories of surprising wins and insane defeats

Then I get to the pools results, and I find that three people's results vs me were fudged. I have no idea how I made it out of pools with the results I had, either.

I remember 2-0'ing everyone in my pool except for Forward and theBOSS. I also remember finding out that theBOSS lied about the results for our match in order to obtain a higher seed (he went 1-1 with me, but told Arash he 2-0'ed me. By the time I found out, they were halfway through winner's round 1, so he couldn't really do anything to help me.)

Luckily, I met up with theBOSS' lying skank ***** ho *** later in the bracket, and 2-0'd him, sending the worthless **** home (which was apparently not too far from the tournament.)

Anyway, looking back over it, it said that I went 1-1 with Inks. This is the only one I'm unsure about, since I can't remember who he played. I feel like it was a Peach, GnW, or a Samus, but I honestly don't remember my matches vs him, so ~maybe~ I did?

Then I saw that I went 1-1 with HMW, too. I don't know him personally, but I remember 2-0'ing a dark-skinned Doc named "Brandon", or something like that. Idk if he lied or what, but seeing that, plus the Inks and BOSS scores makes me really amazed that I still made it out of pools.

Souhh... has this ever happened to you? How often does this sort of stuff occur at higher-scale tournaments? Cuz it's kinda a turn-off.

Hasn't happened to me personally, but an occasional story like this pops up once in a while. Sometimes it's the TO's error also, marking the winners wrongly by accident.

Yeah, I've done that before with larger tournaments. I've been lucky enough to catch it every time (to my knowledge.) The only other largish national type thing I've been to was Final Round, but they didn't mess things up quite that bad.

I mean, I'm not really complaining. I got to lose to manacloud (who I was sure I would **** in a MU he knew much better than I, lmfaosobadme), and my second loss was a really cool guy who I joked about beating me before I actually met me. So I got two great losses, and one win that was more satisfying than any of the other things I've done, all because of a lying scumbag. Still, lying scumbags. Eww.

Do you think it might of been a mistake? Why would the uploader lie about this?

If the players who have inaccurate wins against you are willing to admit this, then the results can be changed.

Something like this happened at a tourney in or around Merced not all that long ago, IIRC.

I remember Inks as a Marth main; I played him in late 2007 or early 2008. He might have used different characters earlier.

Yeah, this happened to me too. In my round 1 pool at pound 2 I beat a falcon who's name was big d I think. He put that he beat me 2-1 when I actually beat him 2-1. My seeding was hurt but I still made it out. My second round pool was a death pool tho, so it def ****ed me over.

At Pound 3 round 2 pools I got disqualified because someone crossed out my name on the pool sheet and said I left the venue or something. I already played and beat enough people to make it to round 3 pools even though I had 2 matches left. The next day by the time they announced round 3 pools it was too late to do anything.

Still salty about it to this day.

useless to lie about tourney results IMO, what matters most is how well your doing personally, Its about self improvement when you go to tourneys. Lying to get a higher ranking in some online ranking thread is so useless

What? This isn't the Brawl AiB ladder. We're talking about in person tournaments. Having someone lie about your results can get you some pretty bad seeding as how some mentioned and then that skews your tournament performance.

It's always possible that the guy just didn't know how to properly fill out pool sheets and got it backwards.
With hmw I could see it just being an error. Inks, I can't remember, so maybe I lost a round.

With TheBOSS I actually talked to Arash about it as soon as I saw it (midway thru round 1 winner's), and he said TheBOSS came up to him and said it was 2-0, his favor.

I don't really care now, tbh. I beat the guy I cared about beating (pretty soundly), and it's from a tournament a few years back. It's not like I'm going to try and get e-fame off mediocre matches, ya know?

Don't think TO lied. Know TheBOSS did. Dunno about hmw and inks, tho.

Holy **** I'd be raging if that happened to me.
