Do you find that these help? For example, go to training mode and do 100 shffl fairs, or something. And if you can't get 100 in a row perfect start over.

I'm doing some with falcon and I *think* they're helping. Can't be too sure though :glare:

I was never so committed to do a full hundred. I usually stopped at 20 when I was hardcore about practicing. Guess I'm soft.

naw its more of a ratio imo... like if u can do it 19/20 times, then u probably don't need to keep doing it and should work on something else...

also, i'll let someone else make the dair pun, cuz i don't feel like it

I used to do something similar to this. I'd play 100 (or I think the max was 99?) stock matches with CPUs and if I lose a lot of stocks, I'd finish that game up and start again. I haven't done it in a while.

someone mentioned a game in the falco boards once

play as falco vs a lvl 9 marth. stamina mode. dreamland. lasers only, and no tricking the marth into suiciding.

its hard as ****, but helpful for learning to deal with powershielded lasers.

You have to know how to walk before you can run, sure. But even if you've been walking your whole life, you can't expect to go win an Olympic medal in the 100-meter dash. Practice what pertains to your level of skill. This also requires you to understand where you stand in the grand scheme of things.

Drills like this only develop habits that can be hard to break later. Doing them is essential to better understand the game, but after a certain point they become a waste of time; time that could've been spent developing more important aspects of your game, depending where you're at skill-wise.

Be wary about shffl drills, using the same timing will make you miss the lcancel from hitlag on people, esp. vs shield. If you still want to do shffl drills, make sure you practice empty shffls, shffl on character, shffl on shield (turn starmen on), varying your shffl timing (when it comes out, at what height, etc.), etc. stuff I can't think of right now. Just make sure you cover all of the variations on shffl so that you're aware of them.

get 3 cpu level 1 icies on the same team and if u can l-cancel while hitting 1 or more targets consistently you're usually good to go during the match

When I wanted to perfect wavedashing/landing, etc. I went to yoshi's in training mode and made an obstacle course. Jump up, waveland from top platform to bottom and off that one on to the main stage without actually landing. Then wavedash from the middle of the stage, backwards towards the ledge, grab it with a wavedash and waveland onto the stage from the ledge. Eventually replaced wavedash with WD OoS.

Attempt to complete a 10 stock match against a lvl 9 jigglypuff/peach on DL/FD with time limit at 4-5 mins depending on lvl of player and attempt to only use aerials and perfectly shffl them each time. Lose half of your stocks or get timed out before completion and you are required to do 30 laps around your abode. Then rinse and repeat till completed effectively 2 -3 times in a row depending on comfort with both shffling and completion.

we only played once or twice at wtca, but you don't seem to handle powershields very well...
I powershielded like two lasers, then you just stopped using them.
maybe it was because it was friendlies though :\

aaaaaayway, level 1 cpu with 9 handicap and damage ratio at 0.5, yourself being on 1 handicap. just practice drillshines and nair shines and shine grabs and stuff.

for ice climbers tech drills i like to do a continuous desynch and keep it going for as long as possible while trying out many different moves. it looks really cool when i throw in a bunch of charged smashes and tilts, grabs, some wavedashes, and even jabs. it really looks like i am controlling two characters at once.

even back when i practiced all the time i never liked doing DRILLS.

my fav. way to practice is just by comboing a lv.1 cpu around the stage. while you do this practice moving around the stage as fast as possible, practice all the hard wavelands and edge cancels on that level while you look for new ways to combo this lv.1 falco/falcon. do this until you get bored and then switch stages/cpu's.

You did this at Nyte while waiting 20 minutes for M2K to find his good controller. Looked difficult.

One thing that I like to do to warm up is waveshine onto the ledge. Ledgehop drillshine back onto the ledge. FireFox Stall once or twice, Ledgehop Drillshine back off, repeat. I normally do this on yoshi's. Then do full-ledge-hop thing and waveland to the center of the stage, do some wavelands and Waveshine to the other ledge, and repeat the process on the otherside.
