There have been lots of ladders/rankings for ssb online, but as far as I can tell there have been none yet for Europeans. Most ladders lasted for some while and then disappeared, I don't know if this one will be different but I do hope that it will last long enough to get some interesting results.
The method is simple. You challenge someone above you on the list, and then you make an appointment to play a best-of-3 game. Pm me if you need someone's msn. You can choose the server with the least lag, or play p2p. If you win, you move to the place your opponent was, and your opponent and everyone between him and you move down one spot. If it does not cause too much lag, record the game for verification.

Cheats: all chars and no items are the only cheats that are allowed
If it matters, the player to be challenged chooses his character first in the first match.
The challenger can choose the stage in the first match: the first match is either in Hyrule or Dreamland.
After the first match: loser says stage, winner chooses character, loser chooses character and picks the stage he said. The allowed stages are: Peach Castle, DK jungle, Hyrule Castle, Dreamland.
Don't challenge the same player over and over again. If you lose your challenge, challenge someone else.
