To be clear, Mojang (the creators of minecraft) were a 16th-seed wildcard thrown in to fill the bracket.

They are currently (as of the time of me writing this) leading against 1st-seed Nintendo by about 200 votes.

I don't know what is more ridiculous, that Nintendo is losing to a company that so far has one game (in beta), or that The Escapist screwed up the seeding that hard (Mojang is NOT a 16th-seed endeavor!).

Epic. Just epic.

EDIT: 15th-seed Cryptic (Who? I didn't know them, or any of their titles either) are destroying Zynga (guys behind farmville, petville, stupidadbottingville, etc.), despite Zynga apparently advertising the bracket in their games and trying to get people to vote for them that way. Epic justice is epic.

I think this is a case of people voting for underdogs for the sake of voting for underdogs.

And now they're winning because of it.

The newest pokemon games sold more copies in a few weeks than minecraft has been downloaded in its entire life.

Nintendo is bigger than minecraft, but this isnt like, factual numbers or anything like that, it's a popularity poll on a random website where a fraction of a percent of people who play games and yes the majority of them are PC gamers. Most threads that are about console games, no matter what game it is devolves into "PC is better"

Cryptic Studios is a division of Atari responsible for Champions Online and Star Trek Online, as well as an upcoming Neverwinter Nights MMO. It's also been the most profitable portion of the company for two consecutive quarters. I think they deserve to beat Zynga.

Yeah, I saw that but I never heard of either of those games... Neverwinter Nights I have heard of, however.

Cryptic made City of Heroes, Champions Online, and Star Trek Online.

In other words, they pump out mediocre MMORPGs.

Anyway, agree with Jam on this one. Sure, Nintendo and it's games might be selling a lot but they're generally pretty unfavorable with many gaming communities right now. Plus, as previously said, The Escapist is populated but mostly PC gamers. What did you think was going to happen.
