I think it's impossible to escape it but no worries, any stages with walls will most likely be banned.

I'd be more worried about the Ice Climbers' new infinite...either don't get grabbed or just struggle as hard as you can to get out of the grabs as they’re being done.

*If your opponent happens to miss a tech, try abusing your own infinite*

I have yet to figure out a way to get out of DeDeDe's CG but I agree with ?????????????????????????????????????????? Ice Climbers are a bigger problem

IC
-Mario's grab game is limited
-IC are just too ****
-Popo can CG without Nana

then again...there are probably more D3 players around than Ice Climbers I don't know...I'll experiment next tournament I go to

Decent strategy:

Step 1) See a D3/IC player.

Step 2) Run.

Step 3) Claim it wasn't you running away.

Step 4) Rinse and repeat.

Step 5) If step 1-4 don't work and you've done them already, move to Cuba and adopt a false identity. I understand they're ...hiring.

The Ice Climbers' infinite has one flaw and that's desyncing; desyncing is one of the Ice Climbers' main strategies but it also gives you the opportunity to prevent the Ice Climbers infinite if you make sure Nana can't get into formation with Popo; basically, many players are going to use desyncing as their main form of offense which gives you the opportunity to make sure Nana and Popo can’t get into position for their infinite (Focus your time on Nana, she's a low level AI and is often unresponsive to attack commands; just keep Nana far enough away so the Ice Climbers can’t get into formation).

That´s very good strategy against IC. If you can get one attack hit Nana you can usually hit her further from Popo and juggle her pretty well. Once she flies off the stage the IC player has two options: either he/she will run down as well to use Up-b as an attemp to save Nana, which makes next movements easily predictable, or let Nana die (because it´s very easy to edgeguard lone Nana) thus losing effectiveness from all IC´s attacks. After that Popo alone is much easier to beat.

The only thing you really have to worry about from King DeDeDe's infinite is being shield grabbed; as long as you play carefully to avoid being grabbed, King DeDeDe is one of Mario's easier match-ups. Mario can easily juggle King DeDeDe and approach with fireballs and the F.L.U.D.D., plus King DeDeDe is one of the better characters to use wavebouncing against.

*Watch out for Waddle Dee throws*

*Besides grabs, King DeDeDe's most often used moves are Waddle Dee, Ftilt, Dsmash, and Bair (These moves are not King DeDeDe's "best" moves, simply the most spammable in King DeDeDe's arsenal; a good King DeDeDe will focus more on trying to get you into air to be juggled, most likely with Bairs, with the exception of chain grabs)*

*This is not meant to be a guide for fighting King DeDeDe just a brief analysis of what to expect from the average King DeDeDe player*

Um wow just ukemi or nair right after your thrown works like 90% of the time. Other than that just work on your spotdodge so being chaingrabbed becomes less of a problem.

As for the iceclimbers just stick to the air. when at a distance pummel with fireballs and when up close just either sh nair or double jump quick fall to an nair/dair.

There is no way to escape Dedede's chaingrab as Mario when it's done properly. None. And it's not even hard to do. If you're escaping, the Dedede that did it fails.
