I've got a couple of questions

When I hold a basic attack button, my mana bar slowly turns green. whut?

what triggers that mana recovery thing in town when you stand stationary. Sometimes it will trigger, other times it laughs at me instead.

What does it mean when it says "honorary guild points have been acquired"?

- Mana break. You'll use up whatever mana amount is green the first time you get hit and be forced into knockdown

- idk just be in town

- Guild levels go by points earned by members for playing. Certain amount of points = 1% of a guild level

I think have been playing this game too much. LV 58 and reached 54 AP tier in PvP rankings. But, this game feels too much like smash at least when playing as the Night Watcher class. Stage control is incredibly important. There is an extreme lack of defensive mechanics or the ledge aspect... But, overall I would like to see more platformer fighters. I call PvP such simply because that is like the only thing to describe it lol

Yea there is a reason i play this game a lot too xD

I also think you are ahead of me in ranked. I play mainly 3v3s so i don't bother to calc my Ap tier

edit: nvm S rank is 56+, so i'm still ahead though its not in 1v1s

I mean you are A rank, so you wouldn't do bad at all in it. You would be inexperienced, but you would figure something out. Its also easier with people you know cause you won't get random's raging at you and i skype with my teammates too if you up for that too.

Xeylode and I did some 3v3s together. Afterwards I ended up in the +62 AP tier mark. 2 tiers away from SS rank

I feel like if you got to level A or so to begin with for your first time you already understand enough about the mechanics of the game to quickly pick up teams. For example, I expect someone would already know about combos if they get in a 1v1. They might understand how to break out of said combos or catch people in 1v1 situation. From there the rest seems about playing well with the rest of your team.

As I said before it seemed like we just lacked being able to play well as a team. Getting caught stacked together too much or not realizing when we should butt in to help or not. A 2v1 situation seems strong, but leaves your other team mate in said situation as well. So, unless they can evade really well its not helping with your 2v1 situation. If you are already have someone in a combo, then the rest of your team shouldn't really help out I feel as it just gets them into a mana break even faster and you cannot cvoer the get-up options as easily. The rest of the team should be keeping the rest of the opposing team from helping out. At least, I think we can do that well with our characters we had before.

I probably should have been focusing on setting-up traps on areas to prevent people from getting by us or around you to help catch them more easily.

Purple was all over the place and I really have no idea what his strategy was at all. Nor am I really familiar with Aisha's moveset.

A team of EM, GA, and NW isn't exactly a combo team. Its all zone control.. so its harder on us to do well when teams of WS, BM, LK, Elesis, can just clump us and then combo us foreverz. Also Chung is just silly with his 300 mana spells.

Okay so, I should have noticed this thread the moment it was posted. I'm just now discovering there are actually SmashBoards people who play this game. I wouldn't mind hitting up some of you guys for PvP, dungeon runs, or Henir runs. Here are my IGNs if anyone is interested:

HeavyGravity - lvl 60 Iron Paladin
IncomingNade - lvl 57 Tactical Trooper
DanteKise - lvl 46 Deadly Chaser

Santomeru - lvl 45 Pyro Knight

Which path do you plan on taking for yours? Also. If you want someone to join you on your runs, I'm usually free. Just let me know and I'll hop on one of my characters.

I might be taking a hiatus. It took forever to reach SSS rank, and my goals for the NW class are no longer strong as they were before. Probably go down some other route now.

Man i'm stuck at +64 rank. Then again i'm still going with no costume so i'm missing out on a ton of potenial stats.. My main issue is how fast i die now .-.

As of now i just play on my EM and GA.

EM is ArRad and GA is Zalzala

I reached SSS. Was stuck 76 tier for awhile until I finally got into SSS. Now, that I look back on how I have played I think everyone below S rank does not know how to play the game too much. I am legitimately getting out played by people who really understand the characters and mechanics.

I do not think you are missing too much on stats from costume.

ish. It's kind of like an in-between of Street Fighter and Smash, since you have a couple moves and some fixed combos, but your movement is not as locked down as SF and more similar to Smash.
Hmm... I'll try it out Friday.
..We should all make a group together, when most of us get the game. Just a suggestion

I'm with Xeylode. The only reason i played was cause i had nothing to do. Now that i have a job, no time to spare with MMOs. There is a reason i quit MMOs in the first place, too much time commitment (mainly grinding gear and levels) needed to be good at them.

Elsword isn't too bad as you get sparring gear.. And skill > level, but my 2 main friends i played the game with stopped playing so i've lost interest without my main 3v3 group. GA sucks 1v1 :s

? You finally reached lv70? Well, then you have certainly been playing far more than myself. I recently redownloaded the game to play, and this is awful trying to get to lv70.

How is it any different now? I look at my character at level 65 and I need to complete 19 million exp and enemies give me like 4.5k exp. 4222 enemies to defeat X.X

Or, I could try dungeons. If I complete the demon gate bonus part I get like 1million exp, but it takes like 20 minutes to complete all of that. About 6 hours to get a full level >_> Worse on the higher ones.

The NA exp tables used to be like triple the KR ones or something, now they're less than double

I got my Add to level 52 in the first four days he was out and burned myself out. Haven't played in a bit

I'll be active once the job path I want for Add gets added. It's been two months and they still haven't mentioned it :\

Also new Ara/Elesis/Add jobs are being announced for KR right now. Us getting those would get me going again too, since I might job change my Ara/Elesis

It's been about 3 weeks.

I'm getting somewhere.

Let me share some collective thoughts about the game though.

Let's start with characters

--------------
Elsword

He is on my list of not interested in playing yet.

My first character was elesis and everything I've seen on elsword just looked meh in comparison.

That is till I got up there and started seeing ones with more variety.

I've seen some elswords do some crazy **** but I just can't decide on which one I want.

Rune knights just seem a bit spammy and less interesting to play.

Infinity sword looks like it could be cool, but I literally hate pvping this class. Holy ****, the spinning blades that do bleed damage and sometimes stun is just plain out ridiculous. It's like a naryu's love, but it doesn't knock the opponent down, just sets them up to get SHRECKED.

Don't remember what the original class is, but that one looks like it might be the most fun.

-------------

Rena

Oh rena, why do you have to be so stupid?

All three of her advanced classes are hell to fight in pvp.

Windsneaker with her ridiculously low knockdown rate along with leg breaking low kick, plus kicks faster than kenshiro's punches make her a pain in the ass to beat. She's fun though, but after playing other characters, I'm not sure I will enjoy her not as diverse combat.

Grand Archer is a pain to fight because everyone wants to double jump arrow spam till they land a hit then start a combo. And if you don't approach them, they'll just hit you a choice few times using some good zoning and you'll lose by time out.
annoying to fight, but relatively beatable. a pain though

Night watch.

Oh man night watch. This is the one that I love. She CONTROLS THE FIELD.
With her plethora of traps and tools fit to deal with pretty much any situation, she is like one of the most amazing characters I've played so far. Kicks/Sword/Bow/Traps. SHE IS HERE TO DEAL WITH EVERYTHING. her moves are cool and those traps are really good for controlling the field.

I even learned how dangerous they really are. I hadn't fought many good ones till recently where I fought one that was pretty good (at least for my skill level). The amount of stage control along with ">>...>^ZZ" usage was so spot on that I just couldn't beat it. I was playing an ara at the time. if I was on night watch I MIGHT of been able to beat that. doubtful though.

But she's definitely my favorite rena class.

------------------
Aisha

I don't want to take up the page so much so I'll cut short.

She's great, but everyone plays janky in pvp.
Love Dimensional witch though. everyone complains to me that I should of been void princess. Idgaf

----------------

Raven

Haven't played yet. Didn't intend to. Saw lots of good ones in pvp from all 3 classes. Going to make one, probably blade master. he looks like he has the most variety for his moves.

---------------

Eve

Hard to get into.

Chose Code electra. Thought it would be the most fun because lasers. As I get into higher levels they just get stupidly janky from what I've seen, pvp and pve

Tracking lasers.
IN PVP.

WHY IS THAT A THING.

Her movement tech skill is also out of my grasp for some reason. I've gotten down pretty much the gist of most movements from other characters, but hers I can't seem to do.

--------------

Chung

Not interested.

Lots of people go as the class that has a pistol and pretty much just zone with the shots.
Pretty annoying. Not fun to fight them at all.

Also have a bunch of homing attacks, which again. WHY IS THAT A THING IN PVP.

------------

Ara

ORAORAORARARARARARA

BEST CHARACTER
BEST CHARACTER
10/10

Holy **** this character ended up blowing me away.

Not even gonna lie I did not like her from the start. she felt...wrong.

Even after first class advancement she just felt wrong. I played elesis for a good long while and learned a lot of things with elesis that helped my overall gameplay in elsword.

I ended up partying up with an ara that took the same class I had intended to choose and she did a >>^ZX and for some reason I didn't remember that being on my combos that were added.

I went back to ara to test it and it worked. So i played some missions and for some reason she just clicked.
I felt slow with her when I first played but for some reason all that elesis play just pushed onto ara and it all worked.

This actually hapened for all my characters in terms of skill, but it really affected ara the most.

She became extremely fun to play and her skills just made things better. I learned some stuff as her and just went with it.

Sakra Devanam is the **** man.

Yama raja is the other one, i've seen cool stuff from them but not too interested.

Asura looks cool but I like SD too much. Not interested enough in the third class and her desu eyes.

Kind of salty that the third class gets Eun mode on all awakening beads though.

---------------
Elesis

My original champion.

Definitely just as fun as Ara in pvp.

But in pve she just isn't as fun for me.

I chose Grand master for the combos while my brother chose Flame haze Blazing heart because Ph1r3

Her combos are outrageous and the stuff I just get to do with her is astounding.

I don't like pvping them because most just spam iron body / stoic and that's just janky.

But I've seen a few really good ones and those ones are fun to fight as well.

---------------

Add

Why is this character a thing.

Why god.

He's a literal beast.

PvE, I can't say, Haven't been through enough.

But in PvP, he is like the meta knight. If the people who played him abused all of his tools to hell and back, you could probably make someone quit pvp.

Let me think...

A skill that can knock the enemy out of the air, and give them enough stun to start a combo.

A rapidfire ball blast that lasts long enough to hit the enemy before it ends and starts a combo. ALSO IT HAS DECENT TRACKING ON IT.
If you're in Awakening mode with him and he is in advanced class IT ALSO AUTO FOLLOWS UP.
AND THIS HAPPENS FOR A LOT OF HIS SKILLS

On top of both of those he also has a skill that makes a makeshift wall that not only blocks projectiles, but slows the enemy movements, does decent damage, freezes time when it activates, AND serves as a free combo follow up.

A skill where he shoots a shockwave that does RIDICULOUS DAMAGE in pvp and pve and can pull the enemy for a long time if used next to a wall. FOR ANOTHER FOLLOW UP.

A skill where he makes a giant orb, AND IT FREEZES TIME AND IS FAST and it can easily do half health IN PVP.

Not to mention, a choice number of his attacks in awakening also cause the status stun, which render you helpless. He also has a bunch of really powerful rapid attacks that will literally be the end of you.

ANOTHER SKILL I FORGOT is one that attaches a link between him and the opponent.
NOT ONLY DOES IT HAVE HITSTUN, it slows their movement, and whatever damage he takes, the linked person also takes a portion of.

My brother literally deleted this character because he hates them and I can see why. They have tools to deal with every situation. I'm tempted to level mine just to abuse everything that everyone doesn't do.

Add just isn't right in pvp.

It's like meta knight in brawl.

--------------------

Now onto other things....

THE CASH SHOP
Holy **** I've never seen such corruptness in one place.

Let me tell you that I despise KOG's prices more than Nexon's in Vindictus.

Suprised me to learn that Nexon publishes this game in KR. THEN IT HIT ME THAT THIS IS TYPICAL NEXON SHENANIGANS.

NEXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON.

But anyway

Costumes WITH STATS.
Just No.
A full costume ends up costing $20 + as well.
Did I mention that the normal outfits you get in the game also expire?
WELL BULL****, NOW IT'S LOOK UGLY WITH THE BASE CLOTHES OR PAY FOR COSTUMES.

From what I've seen some late game armor does look nice, but that's like level 65 and leveling up past 50 is already proving to be a hassle.

At least the pvp armor looks nice.

But still, it's pretty janky for them to charge so much and to have stats on them as well.

------------------

Don't even get me started on skill slot B though...

I know it wasn't always there but that's just an extreme **** move.
This game has a lot of moves and the usefulness of some may be really situational or just having all of them would be nice as well. 4 skill slots is not enough to do that. It's criminal for them to make them locked to non paying players, but even worse, they come in at $9.

This isn't for your account either. this is for YOUR SINGLE CHARACTER

I don't even get why this is defended around elsword either. Is this just the mentality of players over there?

Now 4 skill slots is definitely enough to get by, but there is a time and place for everything and it doesn't feel right at all for each skill which can each serve different purposes to go unused.

Switching skills just to buff, switching skills just to clear a single room, or switching skills to fight a boss.

Even 6 would of done nicely, but four just feels extremely limited considering how many skills you actually get.

This is literally the biggest turn off in this game for me. Not enough to make me quit, but I have contemplated whether or not I want to buy anything from it because of this.

Might just switch to void. ._.

-------------------------------

This game sells so much power it's ridiculous. skill rings, skill notes, costumes with stats, and all this other stuff.

I've got the income so I could get all of this, but it feels disgusting to see a cash shop littered with so many cash grabs.

Vindictus must of spoiled me because you literally could enjoy the game 90%-%100 without ever touching the cash shop.

The fact that the skill slot B exists stops that from happening even though it wasn't originally there. Even if it still wasn't here I
t's not like I could enjoy the game as much as it could be.

I'd of said something like "Man, there really should be more skill slots"

-----------------

A loose example to see what I mean though.

If you and your opponent both played smash.

You are both given wii remotes, no nunchucks, just wii remotes. to play.

Your opponent pays $9 and gets to use a gamecube controller instead.
Is this wrong?

Now I know this could be seen as not similar but think about it.

his controller is just added convenience what with the "C-stick", shoulder buttons, control stick, and what not, but it still wouldn't be fair would it? If you prefer a different controller just swap out gamecube controller with whatever that controller is.

You can still win, but if you both are of the same skill level those "Conveniences" will start to show in gameplay.

This definitely shows in pvp since a lot of moves are situational, and somewhat in pve, but who cares about that in pve you're all a team.

However, PvP should be fought on equal grounds (as equal as an MMO can get at least) and PvE would be significantly more enjoyable with those skill slots unlocked.

It's just dumb personally.

------------------

Class changes are $20.
Ridiculous

You can pay to instantly advance to the next job.
Dumb cash grab

Other janky cash shop stuff.

I don't think I've ever despised a game's cash shop so fervently.

-------------------------

Elsword is just lucky that I really like it's gameplay. I'd be gone in a second if it didn't have this great gameplay.

Pvping is a thrill, like playing smash
PvE is pretty enjoyable too, (THE EXP GRIND IS REAL THOUGH)

I'm going to see about "Other means" to getting K-ching though.
As long as my cash isn't going into their wallets, I don't mind. I'll pay ingame money for it if I have to. Sure it's against the rules, but considering THE SERVICES THEY PROVIDE, I don't think I give 2 ****s about their rules.

$9 ****ing dollars per character.
just why.

Cash shop aside though, like I said earlier, it's combat is great fun.
Consider it, but don't you dare spend a penny....
