I'm just your problem~
So I was messing around with a CPU Diddy, and performed a bair on him. When it connected, it was starting to send him backwards, but then it kinda did a slingshot effect and Diddy flew the other way instead. I have a replay saved, so I guess I can send it to someone, but I'll try and record it today.

Alright.

I baired Diddy.
Diddy started to fly in the direction he was kicked in.
Diddy's course then changed towards the opposite direction, as if he bounced off an invisible wall.

Where people get NOTHING.
Just an idiotic theory...but could you have somehow hit him with both the attack box that sends him in front of Sonic AND the box that sends him behind? I guess I need to see it.XD I'm sure Tenki will be able to figure it out better.

I was thinking the same thing...except for the part about Tenki figuring it out. He's quite a ****** IMO.

I'm guessing Diddy was still in hit stun so it's not like he did his SideB to launch himself back or something...Weird CPU DI?

Oh actually thats a weird property of Sonic that only happens on battlefield. His true speed is unleashes, so when you bair in one direction, sometimes he will be quick enough to chase the character and bair him back the other way.

Ok, no not really.

Weird.

You hit him with B-air, he SDI'd to the away from you at every frame possible, and finally went flying the opposite direction?

It sounds pretty impossible, but that's the only thing I've seen that even slightly resembles what you describe.

I've done it on Zelda's F-air, frustrated and annoyed that I couldn't escape it: As soon as I get hit, I spam SDI toward her back, moving through, past her, off the stage (she was on the edge), and still get sent flying in the direction she started hitting me -__-;

Yeah, but spamming C-stick and Control stick.

Except the computer can probably do that much faster.

There was a vid I saw of a Lucas player hitting a CPU Bowser on the floor with his F-smash. The Bowser seemingly teleported 2-3 Lucas-heights above him then started flying to the side.

Sonic's B-air has very low hitlag, so it casts doubt on if this is SDI or not.
