EDIT: In all honesty, I hope Sheik does not overshadow Zelda.

I think it's safe to say the main reason EVERYONE who wants them seperated as characters. Play only one of them, when in a match. Which is the vast majority. And They would like an extra move... Down+B to give them somewhat more of an edge.

Mainly seperated so they both have a new Down+B, since hardly any people actually switch between the two more than once for a short time. *like using Zelda's Recovery* or *Using Shiek to catch up in stocks*

Of course I don't know, that's why I'm trying to ask "What makes you think only Pokemon Trainer will have it?"
Nothing other than the fact that it's such a unique concept that I don't really see Sakurai giving it to any other characters.

In regards to your other post: the fact that PT is three characters in one is not his only gimmick; it's arguably his main gimmick, yes, but the fact that you also have a stamina stat is also a gimmick of his.

I think stamina might work out to be "They'll stop obeying your commands" which wouldn't apply to Zelda/Sheik. Stamina could also be how tired they get, but that also doesn't seem like it could apply to Zelda/Sheik.

I don't think a restriction made so that you would switch between the characters is a very unique concept at all. I can totally see this being applied with Zelda/Sheik, especially since it's exactly what prevented what went wrong; Sheik being used all the time and Zelda never.

Zelda being two characters in one is also a gimmick. Also, you are only assuming that the stamina change is a gimmick of Pokemon Trainer but we don't know that. It is incorrect to pass it off as a fact, especially when all it does is make you switch between three characters forcibly which can also be applied to the Zelda/Sheik combination. Saying so is like saying that having several characters in one is Zelda's gimmick to argue against Pokemon Trainer's pokemon change. You do not decide what is a gimmick to one character, and what is a gimmick to the other. Sakurai does, and unless he says "Well, we're going to apply a restriction to Pokemon trainer so that the player is forced to switch but not to Zelda" (which I find on the unfair side, and would be backwards to the effort he has made to prevent broken characters) I am not going to believe you, and I don't think you should make such made-up assumptions.

Yep, that's exactly my wording. It's unfair to Pokemon Trainer to have to switch but Zelda not having to.

Magical stamina anyone? We have had that in Legend of Zelda games after all.

Unique in the sense that it's never been done in the SSB series before, not that it's some revolutionary concept or anything like that. As I said before, the real problem with Zelda/Sheik was due to less to the transformation process and more to the fact that Sheik was just a generally better character. Zelda's Transform move works perfecty fine enough - tweak Zelda and Sheik a bit to even them out as much as possible and the problem is solved. No reason to go about this in a more complicated manner than necessary.

Yes, I'm assuming that the stamina change is a gimmick of Pokemon Trainer. And you're correct, I don't know that it's a gimmick of his - at the same time, I don't know if it isn't. We have no real evidence to base our conclusions on, so we'll have to rely on educated guesses and assumptions derived from observations. I'm making the assumption that this stamina limitation will be a unique trait of Pokemon Trainer's simply because it's a really defining and prominent trait of his that no other character in the SSB series has shared with him.

I have no idea where you're going with that whole tangent about it being unfair to be forced to switch out with PT but not with Zelda - that's just how the characters' mechanics work. If you're going to complain about something like that, you might as well complain about the fact that PT, Samus, and Zelda (assuming Sheik returns) will be multiple characters in one; you'll presumably have access to wildly differing movesets, a luxury that most other characters will not have. You're pretty much getting two/three characters for the "price" of one.

It's kinda silly to cry foul that one character works differently than another - that's just how they were designed.
