DS (Touch Generation) Character?

Well, if you've seen the new update, you'll see we got Icon 21...Nintendo DS...

The Icon could stands for the "Touch Generation" (Which unfortunately fits with the Icon Theory)

BTW, this is all an assumption looking from a different perspective than I actually believe based on an observation.

I would like to add, Touch generation itself seems to have an icon for the series...yet the DS icon is used...It may mean to represent any number of DS titles, including the touch generation but also pictochat so used the DS icon instead...We will find out after another updated...It could refer to DS in general...

BTW, I got this very interesting information about the Touch Generation Logo

One thing I hope you all know (especially the thread creator) is that the Touch Generations logo you see in the first post is the NORTH AMERICAN version of the logo. The Japanese and Europeans have a different logo:

Since the game is being released in many languages/regions, and it would be unecessary to create more than one logo for separate regions, it is very likely that a universal icon for Touch Generations was chosen as the DS symbol. So really, expect the DS icon to be used for the Nintendogs Assist Trophy, and for anything involving stuff like Brain Age, Cooking Mama, Elite Beat Agents, etc...

(I would like to add I am against or don't know who these characters are, so I am not being bias...)


BTW, I would like to add that the DS Icon does NOT represent Pictochat only...Since the words Pictochat in the "My Music" option is referring to what game the stage comes from

The Mii, not connected to the DS you say...why look at this...

Miis are not that big of a stretch (a stretch regardless, but a smaller one)

Miyamoto said at the GDC that the mii channel began as a DS project, so they are in fact connected to that system.

BTW, I am not claiming there WILL be a character represented under the DS Icon, I am merely saying it is a possibility people seem to be blocking out because it does not fit their ideal version of what THEY think Smash should be...

The Icon doesn't mean anything for characters as the icons are made for stages as well as characters. The icon doesn't mean a AC character has to be in and it definitly doesn't mean a walking DS will be joining this brawl.

I'm not usually one to jump the gun on these kinds of things (as I'm usually the one arguing against the people who automatically assume things), but...

I am now willing to claim that (unless we get a playable character with this symbol) the "icon" theory is officially dead (if we get a character, the theory would still be viable.) And, as a result, the AC represenatives just took a major kick in the crotch. Though not 100% dead, they're hurting like ****!

As for characters who could have the DS symbol as theirs...well. No one immediately comes to mind.

The head silhouette on the box art of the Brain Age games would likely be Dr. Kawashima's symbol, Phoenix Wright would have the silhouette of him pointing (because that's his icon on the box art), and Derek Stiles would have a medical cross. Anyone else...?

Now, while it's true that anyone of these guys could use the DS as the symbol, it's unlikely as they have their own.

Also, Miis are a Wii thing, so it's doubtful that they would get a DS as the symbol.

i believe you're wrong. just as the series for Smashville is Animal Crossing, and the series for the Halberd is Kirby, the screenshot of the My Music screen clearly shows that the series name is specifically called PictoChat, not Nintendo DS.

If you read my post, you would note that I admitted that the DS symbol could very easily represent any of the DS franchises. But the loophole in that plan is that each of these franchises has their own icons, so why use the DS symbol. The logical perception of this update is the death of the Icon theory (much to my dismay.)

The music only appears on that part if it uses the same icon...The Mario only had Mario music in it's section...

Did you notice that they only use icons from whatever game the stages came from. (Please use Mario's Music/Stage Screen.) They had Mario SunShine Logo on that stage, so that meant they will use game's logo to represent the stages so your theory isn't working so here is my theory.

I think DS Icon represents all of games from Touch Generations.

Even then, they would use the G icon, a more specific symbol, rather than the DS logo.
