Drill Rush stage spike

I really not sure what to call it, but I guess you can use it on a recovering opponent or something on a stage with sloped edges like FD or Battlefield. If you drill rush someone offstage, aim below the ledge and when the attack ends, the final hit will push your opponent directly under the stage on places like Smashville and Battlefield, while it'll plain stage spike them on stages like FD, while the little "bump" at the end of drill rush will push you up to the edge.

Do you think this can be useful in a regular match? If it could be used, you'd have you opponent trapped or spiked, and leaving you the perfect opportunity to gimp or edgehog them. Plausible? I did it against a few Green Alloys in Cruel Brawl, but I don't think I recorded it...

Haha, MK's edgegame is so beastly he hardly needs it. It sounds plausible though, and I'd like to see vids if you can get them.

Ya I believe it. Mostly because if you Drill rush someone pure and straight in the air the knockback sends them a fair distance and I could see that turned into a spike.

Most wouldn't think of it though becouse your aiming one your freefall recoveries offstage and if you miss you can be punished. Though the recoil can get you back on if you do get them. My theory anyway.

Sort of useful when someone attempts to edgehog (which is probably a bad idea) you. You can use the long duration of Drill Rush to outlast their invincibility frames and spike them into the stage with the final hit. It's usable, but don't count on it at all.

its kind risky though, cause if your opponents invincibility frames dont end until after your drill rush ends, your screwed. i prefer shuttle loop, but this probably works fien too. i just think that shuttle loop is better stage spiker

Actually, if you hit them on the ledge, they'll end up on the stage. What I meant for this is that if your opponent somehow ends up between you and the stage and is vulnerable, you can plow them below stage and hopefully recover. More of a surprise against someone.

I KO'ed a few Green Alloys on Cruel Brawl with this, but they were terrible runs so I didn't save them...maybe I can pull it off on Wifi....

I've had this used on me by a friend a while back. It's effective but situational. MK has other better options though.

Seems useful, I've applied it in matches before. Like another user said, it's very situational, but it can serve a purpose.

None of you will probably believe this, but he actually DOES have a very small spike point on his d-air, i found it once or twice, but it may have been a stage spike, it was on luigi and his physics make no sense, im still reviewing the replays to see if i can figure it out, but if the spike i've seen is in fact a spike, it will no doubt be the end of my favorite red dodgeball of doom :(

The drill rush spike is odd...i checked it out and it seems to only work from a different angle on every character. but i might have been doing it wrong.

A spike huh? I would believe it. I'd like to test that out a bit more.

Seems like it IS indeed a spike
but only on some characters.

Still researching though.

Works on mario bros, lucario, peach, jiggs and kirby so far, it CAN get wario, but it usually stage spikes him, might have something to do with the hitbox.
