You guys a fan of doubles? Mi loves it's doubles. I've got 2 people I team with, being Technology and Kipdog. Usually I do mario/meta with tech but with kipdog we do mega/villager(also working on mega/meta with tech). At any rate, it was doubles week for the weekly, so I have some 2v2 and 3v3 matches for you guys to check out, 2v2 being the more serious sets and 3v3 still serious but no one else does them almost lol.

Been a long time since I posted. I took a break after grinding for a tourney I had. I placed FAIRLY well, but was so nervous and jittery, it definitely got to me. I'm back on the grind again though, and wifi feels SOOOOOOOOO weird to play. I feel so sluggish.

That said, I managed to get a neat string on this Pac-Man last night, and I had to share it.

Cheers guys!

It has been a while, but as a reward, here are a lot of videos in bulk.

I have listed which matches I need critiquing/advice on.

(If you want to see how the Ness Match Up is properly played, be sure to check those videos out.)

VS :4sheik: (Need advice)

VS :4ness:

VS :4yoshi: (Need advice)

VS :4ness: (Must Watch)

VS :4fox:

VS :4rob: (Need advice)

Thanks again. I will continue to rep this character as hard as I possibly can. Finally made Top 10 in the North Texas PR.

Nice Megaman man! One thing I noticed after watching 3 of those games is that you seemed to be going for a lot of unsafe auto cancel dairs(Might be the wrong term, correct me if I'm wrong). You should also try leaf shielding and grabbing the ledge to cover Fox's phantasms, it's a pretty nice option, tends to lead into an aerial to finish a stock. I like how you were leaf shielding and being patient, not over committing before the leaf shield ran out, you sometimes did that for the other game, but I have that habit too. For the Rob game it seemed like you got predictable when Rob was dropping gyros near the ledge, you would always buffer a roll, which the Rob kept punishing you for. Another pretty useful tip against Rob is try catching his Gyro when it's on the ground with a landing neutral air, and throw it upwards instead of against Rob because it takes like 3-4 seconds for the Gyro to land which is 3-4 seconds Rob can't use Gyro for stage control. Also, try leaf shielding and holding the ledge when Rob recovers low, it burns through Rob's up B gas pretty well. I dunno what else to say, you play Megaman too similarly to me. >.>

In the Yoshi MU, you played neutral pretty well. If you got the W's, you're doing great things that work. One thing I suggest for improvement at 1:50, you challenged yoshi dair with your fair. keep in my mind your opps moves that outpriortize ours, because that yoshi dair went right through your fair. there's always options to wait for the duration of yoshi dair and punish with a grab, or up air if you time it right.

in the shiek MU, at 5:23, I've seen you in your past matches camp with lemons. it is a good option. but against shiek it can be risky. if shiek manages to shield lemons, she can punish your end lag lemons with her bs no frame lag fair, and juggle you. maybe try conserving your lemons to 1 just to test a shiek's playstyle. if you see them shielding, its a shiek that can punish you for using 2 lemons. i still encourage you to use 2 lemons when your inution tells you to, just be aware this charchter has ridicujous fast frames

short hop nair is really good against shiek and i see you using it.

i notice denti likes to roll into you to get past your lemons. you conditioned him to do that. try going for a short hop up air. its a good move to use when ppl roll into you cuz its a multi hit move and comes out at a decent frame.

at 7:09, denti picked up on your habit to 2 shot lemons, and he knows he can punish you and get stage control.when the neutral is like this, i suggest using 1 lemon.

at 2:43, i think denti knows to punish you when he sees you use 2 lemons in this pattern. i suggest, if you have this much lead to space yourself so you are a bouncing fish away, and bait him to approach with a crash bomb or thrown leafshield

Faced a really good Pikachu that bopped me good the first 2 matches, then I dug deep, gave the pellet wall everything I could, and was victorious : 3 Was really holding back his quick attacks with pellets and jumps.

Well, Youtube search is actually useful once in a while.

Focus (R.O.B.) vs. DolphinBrick (Mega Man)

Dolphin did his best, but was outplayed. GG, my friend.
Oh, there's a ninja Glide Toss at the end of the video btw.

Unfortunate on that game 3. If only he had full hopped to do that bair instead of a short hop, he would most likely get the kill, with all that rage and ROB at 88%. Good stuff tho, is this person on Smashboards?

We miss a lot of people here, actually :(

Ninjalink: Aaah the dtilt/slide KO, only happens once in a blue moon, but it always brings a smile to my face.
Also i heard Ninjalink mains Greninja now, think he could give some good info on the MU.

R-Senal: Good stuff! This guy is too good ! Missed a few punishes tho, like on game 3, after Jodi used that counter, it as a free Utilt right there, but he went for a grab. I get it tho, getting nervous does this to you, that game was crazy plus is not like he got back to the stage as the opponnent taunted thinking he died, had time for a dsmash but went for a grab instead, like some scrub named Sorichuudo.

I went to a relatively big tournament in UK with some France / Holland assistance and actually placed second. Losing (more like getting utterly destroyed) against Mr R twice.

I'm quite happy with my placement but not as much with how I played. I went mostly Mega Man in this tournament besides a Mario in pools and a Fox in second round of brackets and GF random chars. So yeah videos:

Winner Semis vs istudying:4greninja:

Winner Finals vs Mr R :4sheik:(bo3 cuz time issues)

Loser's Finals vs Ixis :4sonic: (bo3 cuz time issues)

Grand Finals vs Mr R :4sheik:

Don't bother with GF though, I didn't even try because I already knew I was going to get second. Mr R trashed me. In WF I did try and got very destroyed anyways :/

Any comments or help is appreciated. I think I played pretty sloppy.

Hey guys, got a vid for you guys once again, only pulled mega out in this one match in tourney this week. You'll notice some odd choices as well as alot of unusual mixups compared to what I posted before. This is due to me switching to tilt stick to try to learn it at the time (I've since reverted, waaaay too used to smash stick). and secondly when I was at big house I messed around with fighting people for a few hours exclusively bouncing off rush and think that implementing some rush combat as a mixup could potentially be very useful(though I'm still very new to it so you'll see me feeling alot of it out still). But yeah, please do watch a critique! ;p Sadly no commentary as the streamers sound board broke, but it still has all the game sounds!

Only thing i can think is that in some situations you were air dodging too much, other than that, good stuff.
Kinda feel bad for that Sonic, SD at the beggining and then up B while getting hit by air shooter XD

You think LS helps at all in this MU? I see you don't use it much. Trying to use it more when i fight Sonic, it kinda works, but haven't fought enough Sonics to know if it actually helps or is just MU inexperience.
Also, was this post patch 1.11?

@smasher1001 Good job. You were in control pretty much the whole time. Be careful with walking with Ftilt into people's shield though, i am surprised your opponent didn't shield grab you.

@Sneak Sneaks Damn it man, how do you record this? Do you use your cellphone, or an actual camera, how do you get it to look so good and not shaky? Do you use a stand or something like that? Seriously, help me out here.
As for the match, good job. Can't really think of anything you did wrong, you kept him out best you could, didn't commit hard to anything, good stuff.

To record I use my cell phone and put my 3ds in the kid icarus stand, after focusing the phone while holding it with 2 hand I use one hand to start the replay and then go back to holding the phone with 2 hands and I try to stay like that the whole match

So I landed the new shield break combo quite efficiently on For Glory the other day.. maybe not so impressive considering my opponent, but I was proud of myself so I'm gonna show it off :D

Sorry for the video skipping at the beginning, nothing important happens there besides an insignificant footstool when he's using flame breath

I think I discovered a footstool combo guys. I have not tested it much, but I get it off twice at 8 seconds and 18 seconds in the video. Not sure about how DI or weight factors in. It seemed to work at different percentages until weak hit fair stopped locking.

How to perform: Dash --> JCT metal blade down --> Footstool --> Fast fall weak hit FAir --> Jab twice --> Down smash/up tilt/whatever you want.

Not sure how reliable this is though, was just messing with this for 10 minute but had no way to test it out on real people.

Edit: Instead of fast fall weak hit Fair, you can also fast fall Dair(the part that doesn't spike) and pellet twice. It locks them as well.

Eh, i'd give her a 7/10. EE and tkbreezy are still the best.

Techiyo needed to calm down on that last match. The Ryu was going for way too much yolo shoryus. I understand getting caught by surprise, but still some were a free stock and he got no punish.

Yeah, too much airdodges =/ Sometimes I want to fast fall + airdodge too and i miss up the timing. I also roll too much when I'm under pressure.
About Leaf Shield yes it's useful, but I wouldn't use it in neutral. I think we already got enough tools to fight sonic in neutral game and Leaf shield gives an opportuniy in the setup and in the end for Sonic to come forward. But it's very good for when we got the better position, edgeguard and juggle, also useful to land because Sonic's aerials have some troubles against the leaves.
I haven't really put a lot of thought in the sonic matchup, I usually don't have problems vs them. If Leaf Shield works for you then go for it. Matchup inexperience is Mega's best weapon, lol.

That's a pretty slick setup. Is there a reason you opt out of a third jab?

Is that mr r match on 1.1.1? If so this gives me hope for mega man, that was a great set against him.

Against good sheiks it always feels like you are getting destroyed but one good read can keep you in the game

Can I give some insight for the :4sonic: MU?
The Mega Man v Sonic match up is one of the most interesting Mega Man MU's I've come across. Despite Sonic being a high-tier character, he has a harder time with Mega Man compared to Sonic's mostly in favor match ups. Mega Man in many ways is the antithesis to Sonic. Meg's isn't that fast, requires spacing, is incredibly hard to master let alone learn, and is incredibly technical. Sonic however, is fast, needs to be in your opponent's face, can hit and run opponents, and has incredibly good KO potential. However, there's one major weakness to Sonic that Mega Man can take advantage of: Sonic NEEDS to get in your opponent's face in order to get results. If we keep Sonic out, he'll struggle. Spin Dash can be interrupted by most of our moves, especially our d-tilt, as it can damage him, and if you really want to be an asshole, u-tilt him, but it has to be timed right so I recommend d-tilt. Both have good air games, but Sonic trumps us in air speed, whereas our off stage game is pretty good and maybe can trump Sonic's. This is one of the most frantic match ups I find since both are nearly complete opposites of each other. To me, this comes down to which player can outsmart each other. In order for Mega Man to win, we need to keep Sonic out and if he gets in, we need to adjust quickly. In order for Sonic to win, he needs to play smart and find a way to sneak in to get the pressure on us. Personally, I'd like to say Mega Man has the upper hand, but not by much. I'd say it's an even match up overall.
Did that help? I have a fair amount of experience with the :4megaman: v :4sonic: MU, since one of my former sparring partners is a Sonic main, and that helped out a lot.

I'd say it's an even match up overall.
Did that help? I have a fair amount of experience with the :4megaman: v :4sonic: MU, since one of my former sparring partners is a Sonic main, and that helped out a lot.
How do you usually get your kills in this MU?
I'm not talking about getting the kill after you are down a stock, cause that is obviously one ****** hill to climb, i mean just getting the kill once you have enough percent on him.

With Sonic's, a lot of them actually come from Air Shooter and the occasional F-Smash. I know that's weird, but that's how it happens. ^_^;

Dealing with Sonics has been pretty easy because of how easy he is to keep out. Once they become afraid of approaching on the ground, they'll take to the air or dash into shield.

Pretty much if he turns into a ball, shoot him.

I love it when I win against tough match ups. Look out for the last kill. I wasn't expecting it to connect and was a glorious moment for sure. :)

I find when they go for upB to Uair you can air dodge then air shooter them off the top, once you get them once with that it makes them really scared to do it again.

My guess is that his UpB clashed with DAir's 1st hitbox, only to collide with the one that has a Meteor effect.
...I never thought it would be possible XD
