Doubtful of a Direct this month

I feel like most of this is pic of the day update worthy or at least a website update.

The trophy/equipment collection mini game is probably like the one in Melee where it is only playable in classic mode.
The way the stadium mode menu was presented on the website makes me believe target test is gone.
Sakurai doesn't say "here are 3 stadium modes" he says "there are 3 stadium modes".

Going off this pic of the day we can gauge what is left to be confirmed.

Going by Brawl's model we can easily assume what will be where.
Brawl had Group and Solo, but since a 3DS is only for 1 person we can assume that has all be lumped together.

Clicking on the group button we get this.

With 3DS Smash we can assume "Smash", "Rules" and "Special Smash" will be in this category.
Rotation and Names no longer serve a purpose on the handheld. Tournament I can see remaining because you could easily set up a tourney when there are a bunch of 3DS around.

Now clicking on Solo gets you this.

It's safe to assume only Classic, All-Star and Training will be the only ones.
Events and Stadium can go under another heading.

So when pressing the "Smash" button on the 3DS main menu, you get:

• Regular Smash
• Classic
• All-Star
• Training
• Rules
• Special Smash
• Tournament

Smash Run and the Online buttons are self explanatory.
Wii U will probably lead to some system linking options.
Street pass will probably allow for fighting with people's Miis.
Challenges will probably work how they did in Brawl.

So now we get the Games & More option.

Going off of Brawl's main menu it's safe to assume they clumped Vault, Options and Data all together into the Games & More.
Clicking this button will get:

• Stadium
• Events
• Trophy Store
• Trophies
• Album
• Replays
• Sound test
• Generic options
• VS Records
• Customizations

and any other surprises they might add.
Stickers shouldn't be back, stage builder should be a Wii U exclusive, masterpieces and chronicle were cool, but didn't need to be there.

I put customizations in the Games & More subheading instead of the Smash subheading because you can use these customizations in modes outside of just Smash.
Customizations will also be on the character selection screen but this just adds an easy access area where you can switch between characters and save them easily.

So obviously I got insanely carried away here, but the point is we don't have much left assuming most of these modes return.
The wow factors and big changes have already been addressed.
So a direct would only really be showcasing new moves, outfits, stages, etc.
There aren't any huge game modes left that need Sakurai to explain them to us.
All-Star and Events have been around long enough for us to know how they work.

Wow ho! Nice analysis! Looks like this game is getting more better and better.
However I doubt thay will have a Smash Bros 3ds direct. If they did then the April's Smash Bros Direct could been refered as sneak peek of the new smash bros game rather a big annoucement.
I hope thay have a 3ds direct.

Even if it's not an actual Nintendo Direct, there HAS to be something before the japanese release. Don't forget that as Sakurai mentioned, the last live stream was "one of the last" videos they had in reserve, meaning there's at least one more video to be shown. In my opinion, that will be the last but especially the biggest reveal trailer, with at least two/three newcomers and many veterans confirmed. He just keeps the best for until the very last moment.
I guess it will be another live stream, if there's no ND. But it will happen, no doubts to have about that

I don't even know if we'll get another Smash direct before the 3DS version.

There is already enough information out about the game that a direct wouldn't do as much justice.
And with the pics of the day spewing out new information daily it could fill in the gaps before the Japanese release.
I mean we already know a huge chunk of the roster.
A bunch of stages.
Pretty much all the items, Pokeballs and assist trophies.
We know what Smash Run is.
We know the new target smash game.
We now know what classic mode is going to look like.
Still know that you fight Master Hand.
Miis replace polygons, wire frames, and alloys in multi man Smash.
Trophies can be purchased now.
We have the blueprint for how online will work.
We've seen the menus.
We know customization of Miis, moves, and equipment.
You unlock Mii outfits, moves, and equipment.
I'm sure there's more info, but nothing that needs a direct.
I mean what's left?
All star mode can't really be showcased without showing off a bunch of characters
Challenges could easily be shown in a pic of the day.
"Adventure" mode? (I'm 99% sure Smash Run replaced this)
And connectivity with the Wii U that wouldn't make sense to talk about until the Wii U release.

Even after the 3DS version I doubt we will get a Wii U Smash direct.
There are plenty of games coming out for Nintendo that they need the lime light too.
The Wii U specific game modes could easily be thrown into a normal Nintendo direct.

Theres PLENTY of info a Smash direct can share besides those things including:

1. Is Wario Playable?
2. Has Wario's move set changed
3. What are Warios different Alts, if he has any new ones
4. How many Wario stages are there
5. What Wario music is in the game?
6. Is there alternate packaging that features Wario on the front?
8. WHat are Wario's custom moves?
9. Do Mii Fighters have a Wario hat?

So many freaking questions we have unanswered that deserve a FULL direct spotlight.

Yea we are not turning this into a GS thread, just saying what we want in the next Direct. I have been wanting him since really long so it would be a good end to all the tension of speculation for GS fans. Plus he makes I really interesting character with quite a diverse moveset potential. And play the Golden Sun games, they are awesome! Some of the best JRPGs I have played, plus the first Golden Sun is my favourite game of all time. Even Dark Dawn is quite good so don't go by the negative comments it got by some people.

Yea he hasn't been deconfirmed (I know its not a word autocorrect!) yet so makes his chances more.

What I think in the next Direct will be multiple newcomer announcements in a similar style to Robin+Lucina trailer with reappearance of Captain Falcon. Since there is less time left I don't think we will get single character reveals anymore with characters of similar popularity paired together so one doesn't eclipse the other.

Like Isaac+Shulk or Ridley+Mewtwo.

Plus we will also get to know what the Wii U version has in store for us regarding exclusive modes and things that make it different from the 3DS version from a gameplay perspective.

Well, after yesterday big behemoth of news, Mario Kart has dlc. And considering Amiibo, Nintendo wants to milk smash as much as possible I can assume that dlc will happen. But wrong thread for that anyway. I just wanna say if we do get a 2nd smash direct, it will be announced Friday.
