If you look, he tries to grab one of the Luigis but the Luigi rolled behind him and he got the wolf.

I know that
but normally he wouldn't grab Wolf, since he's his teammate... or they had friendly fire turned on, don't know if that works on grabs too

Yeah, and it can be used for some crazy strategies. There was this one video of Luigi d-taunt spiking his partner Bowser into the enemy for a kamikaze kill.
