Smash Journeyman
Hello! My name is Mike (aka dookdigity - yes all lowercase all one word). I am new to the smash community, really really new. Obviously not the best Brawler out there, nor am I claiming to be any good at all. I just love Brawl and the community it has.
For anyone who has seen the motion pictures "Endless Summer" or "Endless Summer 2" know that it is basically two of your typical, fun loving surfers traveling the world in search of the "perfect wave". I am doing something similar to what they did...
I am on a mission this summer go to as many tournaments in as many states as possible searching for the "ideal smash community". Well, that was a lie, in search of "What makes the brawl community the BRAWL COMMUNITY".
I would love to come to your hometown to compete, film, interview, and upload what makes YOUR smash community special onto this youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/dookdigity
I live in Arizona and am willing to fly ANYWHERE in the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska) or Canada...and maybe Europe... All I ask for is a ride from the airport to the tournament (and I can pay for gas/time). I am not looking for housing (unless it is convinient EXAMPLE: my flight gets cancelled back home). I just ask for a ride TO and FROM the tournament.
Please take in consideration that I am not a psycho or crazy. If you need more than my word just ask anyone in the Vegas (Tudor, Vicko, SK92, Doug etc) or Arizona (EoW, Yamer, Justin Kamikaze, Sao, Morty etc...) community.
I have already attended two tournaments in Arizona and have flown to Las Vegas 3 times (soon to be 4 this coming Monday) just to attend weekly tournaments. The Smash community in Vegas is THAT GOOD!
Right now I just take my small Canon camera to record matches. I am saving up for a laptop to record matches in a legit fashion. To help with the "legitniness" a nice HD camera to record the tournaments instead of a digital picture camera will be coming too.
This will be a very interesting project. It will be fun to break down the curtain of knowing each other through aliases, brawl records, or simply a forum and know each other from faces, personalities, and traits.
SO, I can't wait to meet you all see what it is like to live in your smash culture for a day!

AzOneTwoStep - Phoenix, Arizona - June 14 - 15
Atomic Comic Monthlies - Phoenix, Arizona - June 21
FAST1 - Orlando, Florida - July 19 - 20
Smash Royal - Freiburg, Germany - July 25 - 27
