Does anyone ever use Sheik's Chain?

The idea behind the chain is to give them more damage than they will give to u when they hit u during the recovery. That's the only easy way to use it. Under no circumstances that i know of should u do it to a space animal with pillaring or some other nasty combo.

its too bad you can't use it to hook into the side of levels like the hookshot or grappeling beam, there was a rumor you could and it would give some purpose to the chain but it just dose a crappier job of tasks you can perform better with other tactics and practice.
Haha that would make Sheik the most broken character ever haha even more range on his recovery because he can direct his chain wherever he wants too, that would be hilarious... stick on to things... just imagine crouch canceling and sticking it to the edge as you fly back just snap back to the edge... :chuckle:

nay, needles can intercept the intersection point if a fox ever tries to go to the edge, or come straight up from the edge. the needles hitboxes overtake the grab area where you would grab on, so you can just continuously short hop needle, or what i do is just short hop needle til they fall down again, then run off and back air them out of their firefox. ^^
I did this to joe bushmans fox, sh needle the firefox run off and back air him into the stage, well he wallteched the bair then shinespiked me:( Im not saying its a bad option, i do it all the time and it always works against every other fox, but joe always seems to tech it

nope it doesn't. it's only great for edgeguarding space-biatches. and even then, they can DI out of it if they time it right.

it's only good for getting some damage on the edge *no kill move*

oh yeah, and to piss off some non-DIing noobies :p

yeah lol i wouldn't suggest it against a really high level player. Maybe once or twice, but after that they'll catch on.

Exceptions are of course battlefield, stadium, and dreamland, where they'll be stuck under the level reguardless.

Well on DL if they're far enough down

Other than to taunt, I use Chain in friendy team matches when it's unexpected. Completely throws em off and while they're busy trying to get out my chain, my buddy can charge up a smash. AND KILL. Unless the victim's partner is nearby, then there may be some issues.

But anyways yeah it's fun just to mess with

I use Sheik's Side+B with about the same frequency and intent as Peach's Side+B.
Nobody expects the Peach Bomber Chain!

I randomly chain sometimes when I'm falling from above, do NOT use it all the time it's just randomly works cause they don't expect it.

probably, or somone could just make one. You could use the chain as a tap reset too.

I think a tap reset is like when your shield is broken in teams or (if you're jiggly) after you rest or sing and your teamate just touches you to get you mobile again. I think the chain would work, but needles and a standard punch could work too.

So, from a tap reset to edge-guarding, I believe it's safe to say that the Chain can be used for some things, but other things still work better.

It doesn't seem like anyone's mentioned it, but the chain is great for deflecting some projectiles. I'm not sure exactly which ones, (I know it doesn't stop Fox's Blaster) but it can deflect many other things. For example, when Link pulls out a Bomb in a 1vs1, pull out the chain. While holding a Bomb Link is quite limited in his choices. He can throw/drop the bomb, shoot arrows, throw his boomerang, and do his spin attack (which you shouldn't let him get close enough to you to do. The chain can deflect all of these tools. Of course, Link isn't that helpless, there are plenty of things he could do, such as this: UpThrowBomb>SH>Hookshot to the face.

Yah, not an hundred percent sure if someone wrote this down because there were a lot of posts, but if you use Sheik's chain as you fall from high up (if this ever happens) chances are your opponent won't expect it. What I see that tends to happen is that it stuns your opponent and when you land you can hit them as you retract it giving you the time to recover, might not be the best way to recover from a big hit but if you keep doing the same move its a decent way to throw off someone that is used to pro-style moves.

Smiley :)

P.S. Is Sheik a guy or a girl? I never played the N64 Zelda games so I can only assume that Sheik is a girl, but I've read otherwise in some posts, just wondering.

that was pretty weak, goateeguy
look, just because i wantedto make a snide comment doesn't mean i had one prepared. cut me some slack willya? i was sleepy! :psycho:

oh, and kiddona, sheik is a girl, but i believe (although im not sure) she was trying to disguise herself as a boy. after all, zelda can only hide so much when we all know that it's her turning into sheik and all we have to do to prove it is press down-B.

Sheik is a girl, seeing as she is Zelda in disguise. However, she is pretending to be a boy as Sheik. After completing the water temple, princess Ruto, the sage, tells Link something like, "Give him my regards." referring to Sheik. So Sheik is a girl pretending to be a boy, if that answers your question.
