Smash 3DS Do you play with the 3D effect?

I enjoy using the 3D effect for most of my games. Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pokémon Y, A Link Between Worlds and Ocarina of Time are some of my favorites. But sadly Super Smash Bros. doesn't have that much to give. And I guess we can't blame the game, because being a 2D gameplay style game, they can't do much for it. But the trophies have some of the best 3D effects I've ever seen. Genesect's trophy looks great. More when you adjust the Zap Cannon (I'm guessing it's that) making it look like the sphere is out of the screen. But I have the XL, and they've told me that it's worth watching the 3D on the XL but not much on the normal console.

Do you play with the 3D effect or do you just turn it off?

I like the 3D on my regular 3DS when I'm playing Smash. It really makes the backgrounds pop.

Playing in 3D affects the frames? No wonder the pikmins move so slow. I play it mostly with the 3D. Not to the top, because I get to see double (have bad eyesight).

It is a noticeable difference. Just play with it on, amd then switch to it off a bunch of times, and you will notice the difference.

To be entirely honest, I had completely forgotten the 3DS even had a 3D feature until this very moment.

My vision is bad, i rarely even notice its 3D but i do notice the odd shading that makes you feel like your eyes are straining to not see double. This is why i never really care for 3D movies, as even in movies that are revered for their 3D such as Avatar i simply do not notice except in obvious spots like a spear in your face.

Still gives me a headache after awhile, as i played OoC with it on for abit. So i leave it off.

I have to agree with this, for the most part. If I ever switch on the 3D, it's to make the characters pop more and make it easier to track what's going on on-screen. I mostly do this when playing single player, though. I'm too worried about lag to use the 3D when online.

Nope. Never. Don't really use 3D for anything unless it's cutscenes or something. Too bad this game doesn't have any of those.

The 3d is really good in this game so I prefer to turn it on. Sadly, it's kinda inconvenient to keep the 3ds still during a game like this so I switch back and forth between keeping it on or off a lot.

I almost never turn on the 3D effect for more than a few seconds. I think the effect is cool, but the viewing angles are terrible.

A lot of you have problems with the viewing angles. Good thing the New 3DS can track your head, so the 3D effect stays strong.

When I have it on, it looks nice, but I'm too focused on the game to give a damn. Plus it drains too much of the battery, so usually I have it off.

I used it for certain cutscenes in Fire Emblem and Bravely Default, but as it tends to give me headaches (I'm prone to them even without help), I prefer not to use it much. It's also distracting.

Smash gets anti-aliasing when playing in 2D, so no.

I'd rather get slightly smoother edges than a better depth perception in a game with 2D gameplay.

I play my 3DS exclusively in 3D, it boosts the resolution of the game by another 400x~100* pixels, and add for a wider color palette and more textures leading to higher quality looking games. It is beautiful in Smash. I love it.

It has no noticiable effect on the frames, mabye 1 or 2 here or there. The Pikmin move at 30 fps.

This for me as well. I play every single 3ds game with 3d on 100% of the time. Kinda why I got the system in the first place lol.

Plus the way the stages pop in Smash3DS is amazing. I can't play it with the 3D off.

I blame my ****ty eyesight for never having been able to enjoy 3D. But it saves me like $4 at the movies so whatever...

With the new 3ds you can have 3d on and look at the screen from any angle. I'm definitely playing with 3D once it comes out.

Yup! I play with my 3D on all the time for every game except Pokemon X because it actually hurts the framerate pretty badly. However, that doesn't happen with Smash Bros and it just helps the game look even more beautiful!

Uhhh, what? Whenever I play with the 3D on, the colors look dull compared to 2D mode.
