Do you agree with having to buy both versions for Mewtwo?

Get both versions for free if you have both versions!? Yeah sure!
Let him be paid if one doesn't own both versions

Nintendo neither confirms nor denies plans to sell Mewtwo Smash Bros. DLC
http://www.destructoid.com/nintendo...ns-to-sell-mewtwo-smash-bros-dlc-283312.phtml

"Last weekend we posted a little historical review of times that Nintendo created digital or physical limited edition products that they could have also sold through conventional retail channels, but instead chose to release as exclusive free gifts and rewards. The idea is that, given Nintendo's history, it's not a sure thing the company will sell its upcoming Mewtwo Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS DLC at a later date. It could go either way.

Some spirited community members took issue with that ambivalence, stating Nintendo of Europe's tweet means it will be selling the Mewtwo DLC at some point. Emphasizing the DLC will be free for a limited time is just a backwards way of saying that they're planning to sell it after that, right?

That may be the case. If so, Nintendo doesn't want you to know it, at least not yet. When asked to clarify if the tweet meant that the DLC would ever be made available for purchase, a company representative stated "Sadly, Nintendo has nothing to announce at this time regarding Mewtwo. But thanks for checking!" Nintendo did confirm one thing though -- no one gives a more warm and friendly "no comment" than Nintendo.

Nintendo said something similar when I asked if Amiibo would be compatible with Hyrule Warriors. At the time they wouldn't confirm or deny. A few months later, it announced the game would indeed be Amiibo compatible. Goes to show that like most big publishers, Nintendo isn't going to pull back the curtain on their plans until it's good and ready. In the meantime, we'll just have to wait and speculate. "

I mean I was getting both versions long before this was announced so I'm pleased with this extra bonus of my Melee main. But I do understand how someone without one of the systems would feel.

While I do not believe anything has been confirmed yet, I do hope having both versions does not end up being the ONLY way to have Mewtwo. I do not have a 3DS and do not know when I will get one. I do not have problems with purchasing him as long as his price tag stays under $10.

Don't flip out, he's probably going to be available as DLC anyway.

Either way, this is a good way of rewarding people who got both versions, instead of going "You got the 3DS version, and the U version, and may have even gotten a console to get one or the other, now pay up for Mewtwo also!"
