Sicilian Nadjorf. Sounds like a fair position to start from for either side.

1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 is also a "fun" Slav defense lol. Kinda drawish, but hey when you need a quick game it has clear plans for either side.

If you want, I can take the Black side of the Caro Kann. You can pick from advance variation, classical, or exchange/Panov Botvonik attack.

Hylian, I prefer the Nadjorf over the Dragon. The Dragon is much more dangerous to play, and if it's gonna be a quick game, possibly all mentally done during a car trip or on a sheet of paper, I'm not gonna go play that. You can play that particular variation if you want, nothing wrong with it.

I'm sorry if I'm bringing down the party guys, but if you could all do me a favor I would appreciate it.

If you guys could spare a couple of minutes to say a prayer (or the equivalent thereof) for Kerry Horne that would mean a lot to me. My grandpa died of a heart attack tonight at the ripe old age of 81. The worst part of all of this was that my dad, his son, couldn't make it in because he is stuck in the hospital recovering from a kidney surgery, so I had my dad on my phone, on speakerphone, resting on his dad's chest telling his dad goodbye.

Thank you guys ahead of time, I know if I need anyone I can just ask here. I'll see you all this weekend.

I won't be attending phase for the actual tournament. My piano jury is early next week and practice can't stop-- I desperately need it. I'm guest-performing my toughest piece (out of 7 I need prepared for my jury) in a recital in Carrollton on Saturday to help prepare myself.
I'll probably show up for friendlies/MMs later on in the evening-- I'll need a break at some point.
