BKJO and i are doin the tourny in Ankeny, since thats where we live. My other two "crew" members are doin the one in Altoona. As far as I know most of us have ours reserved at Valley West because thats where the tournament is going to be (I'm not sure anyone is actually going to play now since you have to use the Wiimote now).

I don't really think we'd have a problem getting enough people to come. I know we have at least eight people or so that are active, that's not including the Ankeny players and the new people that are popping up.I found the Des Moines thread!
Well, I'm coming back to Des Moines Melee - at least for a few months to make sure I'm not rusty for college. Plus, we need all the players we can get.
So, an idea to the Melee players - are there enough of us to justify our own weekly Smashfests?
For Melee? ehhh... idk... Lol we kind of already ditched that game.. Terrible at it now.I don't really think we'd have a problem getting enough people to come. I know we have at least eight people or so that are active, that's not including the Ankeny players and the new people that are popping up.
Good to hear. Any thoughts on a better location?I don't really think we'd have a problem getting enough people to come.
I won't judge Brawl's air dodge because I'm not qualified, but as far as Melee's air dodge goes: I strongly disagree. Someone who was "hella pro" would have understood the applications of an air dodge. Without the air dodge, you wouldn't be able to wavedash. It's so weird goin from Brawl to Melee cause air dodge is useful in Brawl but in Melee its terrible... Little stuff like that... Lol
Sounds good Greg. What time does everyone usually meet?Yes, meet up at Mayhem this week [...]
I will be attending ISU this fall. I'm told that it is mostly Brawl up there, but rest assured - once I'm a student, I'll do my best to start up a competitive Melee scene.@ sluys: I'm heading up to Ames next year to go to ISU. Do you know if they ever have tournies or smashfests there?
Hey my crew of about 5 is from Ankeny. PM me ur contact info as well, we could play sometime@kiwiomix: There have been a couple of small tournies with a LAN party group during the school year. Over the summer I've been hosting weekly 2v2s.
@victor: The people I play with are fine playing either game. I've been more into brawl lately just because it's new and my controllers are crapping out on me (but they still work for brawl).
i'll pm u guys my contact info.
