Atreide I added you on AIM, if i'm lucky i'm probably going to be smashing with victor tomorrow sometime after 1pm. You should talk to victor and try to be there if I end up getting out.

I'm going to direct everyone in Des Moines to this thread. Maybe change the name of the thread to "Des Moines Area Smash Discussion Thread" so that it looks more like the others. Thanks!

Argh! I'm having trouble getting more people to post here. Several of my friends don't like getting online and browsing SmashBoards often. I'll keep trying though, expect more posters...

Anyway, I WAS thinking about a large Smashfest on Sunday, but its Mother's Day and a couple people are busy with their families. I'm busy all day Saturday.

Maybe some of us can have a Smashfest Friday afternoon...thoughts?

This Friday I am planning a small Smashfest at my place. I'll post again with more details.

Also, I'm thinking about a bigger event on May 20th. It's a Saturday, and it's a week before Shameful Fall, so anyone going can come and get some practice.

EarthBowser, maybe you can come on the 20th? And you never PMed me back about my team name ideas!

Well, I am holding a small fest at my place at around 3:30 P.M. to whenever. Right now I have Maze down to be there and Japanther is grounded.

I should be fine with the 20th. That is unless the tournament in Keokuk happens to be then. So are you still planning on going to that? And yeah we'll converse about the team name once I get to a computer that doesn't suck my ***.

EB, I'll chat with Kamikaze to see if he's going to change the date or not. If it changes to the 20th, it's a no go. But if he leaves it, we'll see.

Kamikaze says with 100% certainty that the date for Shameful Fall is the 27th.

My aunt, uncle, and baby cousin will be arriving here from overseas on the 20th...so I'll have to convince my parents that us Smashers will be out of the way.

I will post more information on the tentatively planned Des Moines Smashfest for May 20th as I get it.

I managed to play with my schedule a little bit, so I can come over saturday but maybe not for the whole time. I'll give you a call around 11:30 or so.

Edit: I woke up sore as hell this morning and didn't go to work, which means I will be working saturday after all.

The Smashfest for May 20th is a go. We will all be going to Alex's house from 4:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Sorry about the time change, that's just what Alex's parents said.

All you need to bring is your controller.

Everyone PM me for Alex's address...I don't think he'd want me to post it in public.

This really sucks, but a funeral came up and I won't be able to go this weekend. I'm a tad pissed, I was hoping for a bit of practice before next week.

hey..im new to the website, looks like im a day or two too late since you set up a tourney already..anyway, when the next one comes up let me know because i'd like to test my abilities against other people, these 9 computers become boring after awhile...

Hey, I checked your profile and...YOU'RE FROM LINCON!!! I've never met someone on SmashBoards actually in the DMPS system, just people from around Des Moines. I'm from Roosevelt and go to Central Academy. I'm definitely sending you a PM with the address and hope you can make it.

EarthBowser, that sucks. Can't wait to see ya at Shameful Fall though (I'm almost sure I can go!).

You guys really need to try and get some vids, even if they are horrible quality. I personally just want to watch Fall's marth so I can be impressed and beg him to tutor me =P

Everyone played very well today. The Smashers I've played before are improving a ton.

Except Alex, but he's been busy playing Halo 2. :p

Good job to the new Smashers! It was fun seeing almost all the people I know playing against each other. If only a few more people came, it would have been everyone.

Who all is going to the tourney(27th), and who all is going with who?

also, it was impressive to see the skill in the small amount of people that gathered. I havent met many people that play, or even heard of most of the terms used.

I am trying to set up another smash gathering at my house, once it is decided i will tell eveyone where to meet. my cousin and bro will prolly join us. as it is, i have two tv's available, with one gamecube, possibly two. email me Dv02 for any concerns, or just PM me. I like attention.

You guys should have another smashfest soon so that I can meet all the new players. I'm not sure about this one the day after the Keokuk tourny, though, since the day after that I'll be going to Dubuque for another one.

Fall has to work on the 27th, and he was my ride to Shameful Fall. I'm trying to get another ride, so...anyone else going?

I can do the Smashfest on Sunday, I'll be able to bring a T.V. + Cube as well.

EarthBowser won't be able to make this one though, so we'll just have to hold another one the FOLLOWING weekend.

By the way: I'm leaving for Panama City, Panama early morning on June 6th. So after that, I'll need you guys to keep the DSM Smash scene alive until I get back (August 10th).

Eh, that's okay man. If Shawn gets the day off, I can go, but otherwise, I'll just stay home and study for finals. No big deal.
