Last night, i was brawling online with a friend. When i realized something. He was playing Mario. At one point, he suddenly started throwing fireballs at me. At that point i was just about to pull the chain out. oddly enough, while swinging it towards him, the fireballs bounced off the cahin and back at him. I'm posting this 'cause i didn't see anything about this effect ANYWHERE. Didn't have much time to test it out either, so i'm not sure what it can and can't reflect. Anyone care to give it a good try?

BTW i just registered, so hi! =)

I believe it could reflect in melee also but nobody used it b/c its too slow and can be punished and you could just dodge and f-air them lol. Now that f-air (sheik as a whole) is nerfed I think this would be interesting to look into. Can you do the testing b/c I don't have a wii in front of me right now.

Unfortunately i won't be able to play until sunday night. I will still do some tests on the chain's properties to see if there's something potentially useful to it when i can.

Yes people it's hard to believe but other than being a good laugh the chain has great potential of reflecting things.

Since when could the chain reflect!?

I shall looking into this immediately as this would make the chain useful.

Nope, if the chain can reflect attacks then it must require a sweet spot hit as the rest of the whip does nothing to Mario projectiles.

I don't feel like going though the effort of seeing if the sweet spot can reflect as it would be just easier to shield.

You must sweetspot the whip in order to reflect. In any case, the chain is too slow for this purpose. You're better off catching thrown items with a SHAD and just kicking/dodging projectiles.
