Making this because Eric sucks.

His original message:

Well, it's about that time. Added to the poll are the 4 people who completed the admission requirements for the DH. Below I will link to their posts in the Check-in topic, where members here can review their posts and vote.

Vote for the option that best applies.

The posts:

Sandtiger
KevinM
Me14k
Skylink

The poll option with the most votes will be admitted.

You know, if everybody sucks, we should really have the option not to let anybody in. Otherwise we'll get people who are admitted only because they were not quite as bad as the other people who tried, and that defeats the whole purpose of having a restricted access Debate Hall in the first place. A "None of the Above" option is vital to this type of admissions process.

Not to say that all (or any) of the current potential debaters suck, of course.

Also, you forgot Skylink.

EDIT: Is this poll accessible to the temp debaters themselves? Is it accessible to people who aren't debaters or temp debaters at all? The first one wouldn't be so bad, but I don't want a bunch of non-debaters screwing with the voting.

I'm guessing that we wait until the voting is really "properly done"? I agree that a "non of the above" should be an option, just because it is possible to have a group of temp debaters that really don't qualify, but I don't think that applies here.

I kinda feel bad for skylink. He has taken up the worst arguement in this room. There are so many atheists, and he would never win that arguement. I wish he had more posts in some of the other topics, plus he is so young.

Being young has nothing to do with how well you debate. Ok, well sometimes, like in the case of Duke, but this is different. Skylink actually refuted some things, while Duke, just went totally off of his own opinion, and made very bad arguments. Skylink did well in a debate that he can't win, because it's based on faith.

Also, are we only allowing one in, because if that were so, then it would defeat the point of letting people in, the process of getting one person into the debate hall, will be very very slow. And if one person did not get into the hall, but they did a good job, and only lost to another very good debater, they are most likely not going to try again, due to how long this takes.

Gwuh, why do we fail ever so.

I didn't put a none of the above option because Eric said not to. I mean, the way it works is five votes for somebody gets them in, but what if none of the above gets ten votes. What do we do then?

And I didn't think until now about how non-debaters might be voting. ... uh... there's an option to make it so that the poll shows who votes for whom, which would allow us to discount non-debaters. How does that sound, aye?

Also, no, we're not only letting one person in (unless only one doesn't suck, of course). I said very clearly that you can vote for multiple people.

le sigh... feedback please, and I'll attempt to redo this again.

It would be sort of tedious, but you could do a voting system based off of PM's.

EVIL EYE IS SO DUMB

Although, do we really need a poll? Can't we just do it like how we bring in broom admissions (minus the "nominating part"). I'm sure we have enough dogs/cameras for everyone here.

Not sure how the broom works, but I think if you just put all of the nominees up there, and make it so we can see who voted for what, it would work. A lot easier for you guys to count that the pm system.

lonejedi- I wasn't saying that he was incapable of good debate because if his age, I was just saying that I thought he bit off more than he could chew. I was impressed with his understanding and control of himself.
