I hardly come on here anymore and haven't been here in a while so if this is already known by the masses there is no need to say "OMG n00b get wit the timez!!" i found it randomly a long time ago and never posted it because i am lazy but

i remember, when i used to frequent the forums, reading that as Marth you can not use the IASA frames of his dtilt to shield but i know a way you can

If you simply do a dtilt then hold shield and either forward or back on the stick (as if to tilt your shield) you will cancel the IASA frames into the shield

as i said before I haven't been on i while so if this is already known no need to scream it in my face

just thought I'd share

sexy, thats the first i've heard of it, I don't know when I would apply it because if I were dtilting I would want to be pressuring not shielding, but hey knowledge can't ever hurt you.

It's actually kinda useful for like... when you're ledge pressuring, 'cause if you whiff a dtilt, people try to ledgehop to punish, but you can shieldgrab them.

Or you could wavedash back and fsmash, but whatever. It's got uses.

This is soooooo old.

But overlooked so I guess I can't blame you. It's not typically useful since in most of the situations where you would d-tilt the opponent won't be trying to hit you (and other times it's used to bait that very hit so you can counterattack them with uptilt or something). You'll rarely need to go on defense after a d-tilt.
