I started to watch your videos then stopped.

I find the lack of fluidity daunting... Your play style (probably due to wifi) seems to mostly be slashing at air where your opponent -could- have gone. You slow yourself down by trying to 'predict'? while leaving yourself in danger. I find you don't exactly approach nor defend, as my previous comment reflects.

You really need to work on your pacing and other gameplay basics. If trying to think of your mindset it's as if you're only thinking of spacing while not even being near enough to require it...

I blame wifi. the amount of whiffed attacks that had you facing the other direction your opponent was in was astounding.

A lot of times I throw aerials out simply to turn myself around, lol.

Our conection was good or else I wouldn't be posting these vids. I'm green for him, he's yellow for me. I play the same way offline.

Well then take what I said to heart.

Your play style is chaos. Butterflies' wings are burning up and hurricanes are bringing peace and prosperity while you're playing.

To be honest I saw no game tactic. Perhaps one would point out that I as a 3rd person viewer couldn't predict your movements as a good thing; however the results of the matches spoke for themselves. Like a fish out of water you don't know which way they're going to 'flip/flop', but you KNOW they're going to 'flip/flop'.

You just...attacked.

That's it.

Dude, no WONDER you think what you do about Marth's match-ups.

There was no reason or thought behind your movements. And there were times when you could have EASILY punished your opponent, but would opt to do something unsafe instead.

You need to slow it down a bit. Get comfortable with walking around and staying grounded. Use tilts more and DB as well.

You just need to take it back to the basics and get used to Marth.

Is there a specific reason I should walk and stay grounded more, another person told me this too. I am afraid I'm not getting it sadly.

And Meep said Marth is at his best when he's constantly attacking. EL, you said Meep was a top level Marth so I just went ahead and assumed what he said=truth, and decided that if I wanted to be good I needed to go all out attack. And overwelm people with Marth's quickest moves like he said.

But yeah, I'm going to go over EVERY SINGLE THING you guys tell me and study it. I really wanna take Marth to a high level. And I got a tourney on the 11th. ^.^

Yeah, Marth keeps up the onslaught when he can afford it.
marth can afford it when he's NEAR the opponent and he's SPACING HIMSELF so said OPPONENT can't strike back.

You didn't space.

Also I don't think you were using your shield enough, what happened to shielding brah?

Marth is definitely difficult to beat when he keeps you pressured with properly spaced, safe attacks. Charging in with punishable attacks all the time is hardly safe.

Ok, match 2 on battlefield

You're getting hit by so many things you shouldn't be. You're really just running around swinging your sword and hoping Sonic runs into it.

:14, you tried to hit Sonic on the platform with two up airs. Woah woah, slow down. You have the positioning advantage and Sonic is in a very tough spot. Try and up tilt or two, Marth controls the platforms and you are making it pretty easy for him to get down. When you get your opponent up there you want to keep him there for as long as possible. He gets down with relative ease and punishes your second up air.

:16, ok, he jab combod you and now you are now up against the edge. You have a sword. This is a good time to set up your zoning because you outrange him by a good amount. You hit his shield with a fair, ok that's fine. Personally i would have walked to dtilt. But then you randomly shield and allow him to roll away. What you should do now is walk towards him and try to reset your spacing and zoning, but instead you just jump and fair the ground. Sonic punishes.

:22, you nair'd the platform while sonic walks towards you and hits with an ftilt.

:24, you bair nothing and get hit

I'm not going to finish this, i just summed up your basic play style in just 15 seconds. Sometimes if you land a fair you double jump and try another fair. That's not a good idea. Fastfall once you land it and regain control of Marth. Airborne = less control.

Too many times your sword was behind you. You want to keep it in front of you and basically try not to get hit by abusing your disjointed hitboxes.

Marth can be used fast. But you have to be way smarter than this. Tilts are great.

I mostly use my shield to stop movement... Kinda like a Brawl version of a wave dash. Shield camping really isn't reliable IMO unless you're DDD or Snake.

You don't have to shield camp to be able to use the shield to block attacks that will otherwise kill you.

I suspose I could use my shield more and reset my spacing out of it, but a lot of times I'm afraid to shield.

It's something I'll have to work on.
