I could see there being possibly undiscovered tech in this game.

Yeah, there could be. And I'd love for there to be, to increase the skill cap and make the game overall more fun competitively.
We have stuff like Instant Double Jump, dash cancel turnaround tilts, and attack canceling, but I really don't consider those kinds of tech to be on the same level as something like Melee's wavedash. So yeah, I think there could be, but I don't see it as likely considering the game has been out for two years, and this game is much more polished than Melee or Brawl, so the chance of there being an exploitable glitch is slim.

It is always intriguing to hear of that 'secret' technique which is not common knowledge, especially when it is a character-specific, sophisticated advanced technique. In fact, I think that as a marketing gimmick, the development team could announce the purposeful placement of 'easter egg' dynamics within a character's tool kit specifically to satiate the craving of competitive specialists for that moment when they can say, "Eureka! Now I have a secret weapon!"

I can't see Nintendo doing that. Also the only characters I can see finding stuff with would be the fairly unpopular ones.

You might be surprised. I have heard of some rather interesting advanced techniques for popular characters, such as Bowser's Koopa Hop (if the name is correct)discovered in Brawl, or Fox's Reflector Shine (I do not remember if this name is correct) discovered in Melee. If you look, the experts have probably found all sorts of tricks.
