Anyways to answer your question, i think that from the developers point of view and from the business point of view... the game will be a complete success in comparison with melee. Thats what really matters for them in the end right?.

so "failing more" is not the proper question, when the game is getting those high sales.

It's getting high sales because people are expecting another game like melee (which was the perfect game)

Which it won't be, it'll suck.

All Final Smashes looking like just a character gets bigger and then starts randomly flailing about, Mario's moustache going into his head, DK not HAVING a head, Ness (who wouldn't be unlockable) has all of Mario's moves except they all do 1 damage with no knockback, Mewtwo being in as an item (like, you can pick him up and throw him), no character cameos, no credits, you can only play with DK bongos, the games is blindingly bright on the TV screen, and there's flashing lights every two seconds. Then, the game gets taken off the market for not having credits.
There, I'm done. Did I miss anything?

Ah, I did miss that, didn't I? Well, no localization at all, Sakurai as Master Hand, Captain Falcon being able to fly and deal massive knockback but dying in one hit, Pikachu having infinite recovery and permanent invincibility frames, an earshattering announcer whose only way of communicating is by screaming like a 2-year-old and shattering all the windows in your house, making your Wii system melt when played over ten minutes, everything is an advanced technique that changes all the time, the frequent misspelling and misplacement of Japanese kanji (aka. Koopa as Ganon.... wait, what?) random smiley faces being drawn on character's faces every few seconds for no reason in particular, and of course, that "bomb problem," as well as installing a phone on the Wii so everytime you boot up the game it calls 9-11.
I think that's it, but I'm still missing a lot. Any more?

I think a lot of people aren't realizing that Brawl doesn't need the Melee loyalists to develop it's own competitive community.

As long as it hasn't turned into Mario Party, Brawl will have a competitive community, and the people who don't like the reduced game speed and the extra floatiness will just be left in the past.

And of course for casual play it already looks like an extremely fun game.

Besides, most of my posts aren't troll posts. The only time I do make troll posts are if the thread is completely retared (i.e. this one), or for lucario (lol, I've actually grown to like him though)

Upon booting up, Brawl could install several viruses on to your Wii, including one that displays a random internet shock image every time you turn it. The CPU AI could be so bad that they simply run in a straight line after spawning, Ness could fight with a sword for no discernible reason, Slippy, Peppy, and Rob64 could replace Sonic, Snake, and Ike, every boss could be Master Hand (who is actually Sakurai), the game could be re-named "Naruto's Happyfun Battle," or Brawl could only run on the Xbox 360.

The only way Brawl failed is it brought a whole lot of stupid scrubs/n00bs to Smash Boards. If it wasn't for you ***gots I could actually help people in my advice thread rather than having the boards crash every few hours because all of you just HAVE to complain about how much you hate the game you are going to buy. ON TOPIC: How could it have been worse you ask? Less than 35 characters. No sonic. No Final smashes. No assist trophies. No Wifi. No unique characters. No stage builder.

Everybody, Sakurai gave us a ton. Three Landmaster FS, ROB, Lack of Geno/Ridley/Isaac/Krystal/AC rep/everyobdy else dosen't mena Brawl sucks. He gave us Final Smashes. Assist Trophies. And many unique and creative characters and stages (Like Olimar, Pokemon Trainer, PictoChat, WarioWare, etc.) We all wanted WiFi. We got it. You all cried for Sonic. Got it. He even gave a freakin STAGE BUILDER for crying out loud. The game has awesome gameplay, but one character you like didnt get it, there it sucks. Brawl IS the next smash. The game is great. Don't like it? Don't buy it.
