It is also the case where your role in Pokemon is to m,aster the use of all of your characters, when the creators made the game, versus in smash you can be completely dependent on one. Note: I've never attempted to play Pokemon competitively, and my teams were always cool Pokemon, not good ones.

Purpletuce, when you say you like low tiers more, are you refering to yoshi or any low tier (I don't agree with yoshi being low tier, but whatever)?

Because to me it doesn't sound like you enjoy any character just because they are low tier, since yoshi is the only low tier you mentioned in your favorite characters?

I think Yoshi is technically mid tier, but when I said low tier, I guess I meant to say not-high-tier. Low tiers I enjoy playing aren't just the ones I called my favorites, I should have more accurately called those characters my favorite ones to play that I do well with. Characters I enjoy playing are Yoshi, Pika, Mewtwo, Young Link, Fox, Puff, Marth, Roy, Bowser(not against good players that destroy me), Mario, Luigi and DK, in no particular order.

I've messed around with Gannon, but I feel like most of the time I play him I'm, getting wrecked, then throwing out moves and getting silly kills. I just feel like my Gannon is way to scrubby :\

Mewtwo is super fun if you play him bad IMO, but playing to win a match is very campy, at least for me, so I would never main him.

To me the most fun characters are basically all the top / high tiers in this order:

1. Fox (main)
2. Falco
3. Sheik
4. Falcon
5. Marth

6. Ganon, because WARRIOR. He used to be like top 3 on my list, but has been falling as my other characters has been getting better (since he's slow and bad). Maybe this is what you guys feel with ur low tier characters, but I would never limit myself and play such a character.

It's fun hitting people with ganon stuff, but not fun enough to lose because you're limiting yourself with a clumsy character.

I don't really see Yoshi(possibly Pika) as much of a limitation, and since I don't really see any benefits of trying 100% to win at my level, I don't really, think fun characters are much of a limitation now, but will likely be more of a limitation in the future, when punishes get harder and consistencies are greater. At the moment I'm a mid/low level state player, and am doing, fine with Yoshi. Sunday before last I four stocked a Sheik(arguably one of Yoshis worst MUs) who is a regular at tournaments (in smash facebook groups, years more experience than me, etc.) So I think it is working.

Compared to you(Zoler) I'm probably reallly free though. :\

that's not the spirit... Have confidence in your abilities.. :) it's this confidence that can and will make you a better player... I'd know.. i've been there :)

It isn't that I'm not confident in myself, so much as that I know that I'm not as good as Zoler, although I do plan on getting better, and do all the time (I practice every day). I just wanted to note that I'm not as good as Zoler so that they might understand my affinity for low tiers.

The sword can only be as strong as the user. ;) I don't see any clumsiness on my part.
