Controller Problems

So, I play a pretty technical fox. Recently, I've noticed that my consistency has been getting worse on a lot of stuff. Just now I realized why: my control stick is not responive enough anymore, because it's too loose. This is a real problem for me, because I have only one controller that I've used exclusively since I started playing. I really love the way its stick used to feel. It was really loose but still really sensitive. Now I can't do a lot of stuff I used to do easily.

Has anyone had this problem before? What should I do?

I'll be daring and state the obvious, get a new controller!?

New controllers are generally very responsive, and sensitive.

Crispy is a fitting word.

No, I have never experienced this kind of problem.

It does suck for you because me personally, I love the original purple controls and I don't think they sell those types anymore.

Good luck.

I don't know, is like the newer controllers fell "clunky."

Oh and what's up with the constant color changes of our names? Lol.

I wish they would pick a color and stick with it. =P

Does anyone know where I can find a new controller of the original model?

Ebay maybe?

Not sure.

My best guess would be to ask a friend if they have a spare.

What type of control do you use anyway? Original yeah?

I mean, just because I don't like the new ones doesn't mean you can't play with it.

The truth is, you're going to have to adapt to the next controller you use anyway. =P

That's the same problem I have. I stopped Fox from furthering wearing my controller so I switched to G&W. You can try old game stores that you know or just ask and try in gamestop/gamedude/ playntrade.

My control is extremely loose and sensitive but I still can be amazingly technical without hurting my control while using Fox.

If you think theres a way to make it feel with more grip, buy a triwing on Ebay or buy one in a gaming store from PlayNTrade. which is where I got one and on Ebay.

if its just the controller being loose, I believe you can take just that part out, if you manage to get a way to take the controller apart (triwing or hammer (jk)) and switch with a good one from another controller. That's what i did to keep the same rest of the buttons and just switch the control stick anyway

All of my controllers have had issues with responsiveness, but at least I have a good one now. The main thing I've come to encounter is the padding on the control stick always rips off so I have a half a dozen controllers that no one wants to use because the control stick is too sharp. :p

Yeah that's the tendency of what happens for playing Fox, but even then it shouldn't be like the case of Wombo. People should do what I do; dedicate a control that you like for Fox because of the groove, and another for frequent use.

It's best to just have a secondary character so your spacy hands won't wear all to fast on your one controller; if only one. I've been using my 2001 Control(Holy) still + a original GC control I just bought this year for Fox.

I've been using my eight year old controller as well. Although, I use it for all my characters (mainly Marth and Fox).

But I'm glad your idea works for you. I' m sure you aren't the only one.

The only problem I've ever had with a controller is the grip wearing away on the control stick, which can royally **** you up.

I haven't! I've had unresponsive sticks. With one I couldn't go down, and another I could only recover left (even if I held right). I've had unresponsive triggers too.

cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
smash is a game that wears on your controller, and fox is no help to this. The only player I've seen use one controller consistently is Ken. I honestly have no other solution than get a new controller.
edit: in response to fast fox's post about wear on the grip, I think there's a point where you can rip it off. at my last tourney, I was screwing around at the store it was at and saw an orange controller in the back. I asked if I could buy it, and got it for $16. after a couple friendlys, i found that it was godly. however, the grip was loose, and I decided to rip it off. after 3 days, the edge stopped chopping my thumb, and I got used to it. I'm now faster than ever.

so yeah

I just tried out a new controller I got after practicing some waveshining on my old and noticed a lot of differences. It really doesn't feel that much different, only the top feels different. But overall it'd probably help unless you're really concerned about your controllers look. (you could get a paint job on it though)

The grip changes though. I kind of noticed that. And my control stick doesn't go all wonky and doesn't want to go up anymore.
