Continuity Issues?

I'm sure this was here before, done some searching and some lookin' through. Sorry if I repeat what's the main point of this topic if it's already another's.

Anyway, seeing that Samus' Final Smash attack changes her into Zero Suit Samus after the FS is performed, Is there a continuity goof here? I mean, Samus in Brawl is the samus from the Prime games, right? Why would she turn into Zero Suit Samus? I'm sure the games connect or what not, but still. Leaves me in question.

Now onto Zelda and Link. From Twilight Princess, Correct? What does this mean for Young Link and Sheik? Not going to make it in this game? ( I really liked sheik. ) Would it be odd if brawl were to have Zelda characters from OoT and TP? I'd think so.

Now onto Wario, I believe Wario has his own character emblem. He was an enemy to Mario, and so was Bowser. There's nothing wrong here because if I'm correct Wario and Bowser were never on the same side unless you picked them in Mario Kart DD. But, He's fashioning the WarioWare suit. Does this Leave Waluigi out?

Just wondering and asking questions. Not expecting any characters to return or debut in Brawl.

But let me know what you think?

(Off Topic: With the Animal Crossing stage, there's an emblem, does this mean an animal crossing character? :| I doubt it.)

That's what I'm thinkin' as well.

I'm sure Kirby has a fellow character, and this leaves questions for DK, Cap't Falcon, and a few more for me. But if they've followed through alone from SSB to SSBM, I'm thinking it'll be the same for Wario in Brawl.

Right behind you with a knife.
While it is true that the Samus from Prime is older than the ZSS of the original Metroid....this is a amalgam of the series. It doesn't need to be completely right.

Sheik may or may not be in, which is the big question, I guess. Young Link could potentially return, as he was in OcT, because Smash doesn't need to pick one game that it takes from. :O

I pray every night that Waluigi is out.

(There probably is a AC character, but so far that's just an opinion)

Yes, Waluigi isn't a continuity issue, he's a "sucks ***" issue.

We don't know what this means for Sheik and Young Link. All the LoZ characters were from the same game in Melee, which was OoT, so he kept it as continuous as possible. Personally, I don't see a problem breaking all the logical rules because Smash is pretty much all about breaking those rules anyway (marth and roy in same world anyone?).

I really don't think there can be any true continuity barriers considering what Smash is, there's only personal boundaries, so if having characters from the same series based after different games is what it takes to make a cool character, by all means go for it.

In my opinion, the characters make the game of what it is. Whether Waluigi is questioned, or any other character. Just to keep fans hyped, I'm sure Nintendo has some twists waiting for us.

Continuity or not, I'm just overall worried for sheik. The LoZ confirmed characters from TP just make me think more y'know?

In the final scene of metroid prime 2, samus takes off her power suit and you see she has on the zero suit. The Metroid Prime seires takes place between the original metroid and the second metroid.

Metroid time line:
Metroid (Zero Mission)
Prime
Prime 2
Prime 3
Hunters is somewhere with the primes, probably before or after prime 2
Metroid 2 (gameboy)
Super Metroid
Metroid Fusion

She's indeed, wearing her suit from Zero Mission. Which is, essentially, a toned down version of the Prime suit's design (less detail). So there's no problem there.

Shiek? Young Link? I doubt this affects them at all, but who wants them back anyway? Good riddance. If they're not in the game, it'll most likely because Sakurai didn't want them to be, not that there were "continuity issues."

Again, I don't think this affects Waluigi in any way. He's a lousy filler character who probably won't be in the game anyway, so no worries.

Samus is Samus is Samus. Besides, at the beginning of Prime 3, she is wearing the Zero suit.

Sheik won't be in (who cares?), and WW Link will take over Y. Link.

Waluigi never had a chance. AT at best.

Shut up.

I don't know anything about Metroid, but for Zelda... yes, Sheik is rather unlikely to return, because she would definitely be quite the continuity error. WW Link will be the new design for Young Link, being popular, important, and so on. Sheik COULD potentially be replaced by Tetra with a similar but non-broken moveset, but that's a long shot.

And an Animal Crossing character is not guaranteed, but not unlikely, either.

Samus in Melee was from Super Metroid, as Prime didn't exist... The Plotline for Metroid goes like this.

Metroid: Zero Mission (A remake of Metroid to fit into the continuity of Prime better)
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime Hunters
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Metroid II: Return of Samus
Super Metroid
Metroid Fusion

Personally, I'd like to think Samus is still from Super Metroid, only that aspects of Zero Mission and the Prime subseries are integrated now.

Shiek is likely replaced by Zero Suit Samus... and Young Link will be the one from Wind Waker.

Waluigi won't be a fighter in Brawl. Wario is in the game to represent the WarioWare series, not the Wario Land series. If Wario has a partner it will be Mona or Jimmy T, not Waluigi.

Well, the Metroid timeline thing was resolved.

The Zelda storyline and/or timeline issue is personal preference here on the Smash Boards. Some say it's completely irrelevant because that's how they feel about it. Some say it'll be taken into consideration because it's an important aspect of the characters, and it's important to Aonuma (director of the Zelda series,) and Sakurai. We'll see, I guess.

I think Wario Ware is...um...one of the reasons we probably won't be seeing Waluigi in Brawl.
