Ok, so Brawl has been delayed again, will this make places like Australia and Europe have to wait EVEN longer? Or is this just America who can't get their **** straight?

Of course we will have to wait longer, our localisation teams are stupid and put every single freaking language in the game so us here in AUSTRALIA can still just play it in English anyway.

Funny thing is: Brawl doesn't have THAT much to translate. Yes, it's into a few languages but all it is is menus, trophies and stuff. I mean, the storymode (or what we've seen so far) seems SILENT.

Whereas Final Fantasy XII was a rather text-heavy RPG, with a massive bestiary and plenty of sidequests. That came out in America in October 2006, and Europe in February 2007. That I can understand.

But why might it take FIVE months for Brawl?!

*Sigh* Such are the perils of being Australian. I'd rather already have a set release even if it WAS delayed, just so I have a rough idea of when and don't get left wondering, like we are at the moment essentially.

Nintendo of Europe does most, if not all PAL translations. Haven't you noticed that at the start of most games, and even the Aussie Wiis all say to "refer to the health and safety information at (Nintendo of Europes adress) "

I'm sure all they do is advertising (hah!) and pass games to retailers.

WHAT THE ****!? It was delayed AGAIN? Why is it everytime the game is about to come out, they delay it for 2 months away from us? October, it was delayed for two months. January, it was delayed for one month, which is still two months. Screw this. I'm getting my monty back because I'm smart enough to know this game isn't getting released until MAYBE Christmas of 2008 IF we're lucky. Nintendo's been pissing me off since 2006. Of course they have to do something big like this to piss me off in 2008.

I'll get flamed for this, but... stay calm, my fellow Americans. Stay calm. We don't want them to mess the game up. And no, they have not done that already. This is for the best.

As for the other regions, though it may be impossible to tell if you are affected by this I would think that you are not. If you want my honest opinion I think the reason for the delay has to do with overwhelming demand... I could be wrong, but preorders for the game are 20 bucks and over now. The demand for the game in the States is absolutly unheard of before. I think they would rather please as many people as once while still making some necessary tweaks. I doubt an extra month leaves much room for more content, but you never know....

If a PAL release date had already been announced and subsequently was put back due to the other regions being put back, i'd be pissed off.

As it is, with no PAL date, i don't give a ****. Maybe at Nintendo they had a tentative date in mind, like May 4th, and now that it's delayed elsewhere that's had to change to June 30th, but so long as i don't know, and the date they eventually announce doesn't change, i don't care.

EDIT - And yeah, i agree with the guy above. Once you can see past the annoyance of a second delay, it is for the good of the game.

You know what's fun? the more thei delay the game, the higher the expectations, so maybe everyone is going to be dissapointed with Brawl, remember the Halo 2 incident? yeah, something like that.

Although i don't remember if Halo 2 was delayed.

I am personally of the belief that part of the US delay (It was delayed 1 week in Japan yet 4 in America...please) was in order to cut the time between US and EU releases...possibly just be a couple of weeks.

If not then I think it'll be out in europe by April 18th at the latest

The Windows Vista version of Halo 2 was delayed, I do not believe the console version was delayed.

And though Smash Brothers is deserving of very high critique, I don't see how anyone could have higher expectations for the game. I know for a fact people will find something to be disappointed with the game. I have a good feeling what to expect from the game at this point, so I cannot say my expectations for the game have raised.

It won't be long before someone posts how they are going to kill themselves...

If they were going to **** this up by giving us another delay, they could of at least...

1. Announced it. I mean I don't read those notices every day. 98% of the time, they say the exact same **** thing, so how the hell was I supposed to know? Even the Smashblog never mentioned it.

2. Gave us a GOOD character when they delayed it. If they delayed it when they revealed Olimar, bad choice. Only about 50% or so people like him. At least when they originally pissed us off by delaying it, they gave us Sonic to make up for it. Now, only a month away, they delay it to keep us away from it (they've actually cancelled it, they are just too afraid to announce and admit it), and they don't give us someone like Megaman to make up for it? Thats just low, even for Nintendo.

Okay I'm done bashing Nintendo, as well as being a Nintendo fanboy. I wonder if Sony has any openings for fanboys...Nah. 90% of them are Final Fantasy 7 fanboys. I'll just downgrade back to, SNES and Sega Genisis fanboy.

maybe the american delay is so it can coincide with the european release? doubtful, but who knows?

Personally, I think PAL will have the game translated or localised or whatever by March.
This is what I believe. Japan is delayed a week, and America a month; that means that this delay is all about language translation. I'm sure this delay is to coincide release dates. Lots of EU retailers are saying March now anyway; though I am aware that means nothing without a confirmed date for PAL.

I think Nintendo just is overly biased towards their island, and doesn't care about anything but our money. Obviously Microsoft is more "honorable" towards PAL regions. There is no excuse for this, at ALL!

Doesn't everyone? That's the understatement of the year; however, it really does not do any good whining about it.

I just thought about this. Be thankful for what you've got. I would KILL for a March 9th release date over here. It would be the best thing ever.

And to the people saying about putting it back to coincide with the PAL date. That would be great! Obviously unfair on the American gamers, especially if the game was complete and it was delayed simply for PAL gamers, but it would be an awesome way to... make PAL gamers feel better about the whole thing, for lack of a better word. I liked Serebii's oddly specific date, too, haha.

The date is just a guess...it isnt fact or anything lol

If it does happen on that day though then it wasnt a guess and I am a god :p

He said that date because if you work out the days difference between JPN release and US release, and add the days to US release, you get April 18th.
Actually I've been using the April 18th date for the latest it'll be out in PAL for weeks :p

It's like it being yanked right from under our noses. Again ...

You Americans are complaining about a month? Think about Australia and Europe. I wouldn't mind a release date of March 9th in Australia.

Listen. America doesn't give 2 ****s about australians. Lets just say that we've sat through enough delays to be compared to the Australian release date.
