well i have this weired thought yesterday and while i was watching the football hearing all the cometating my mind drifted to smash bros and i fought to myselph

"why not have comentating in brawl"

think about it

just like the way the crowd reacts to your player, the comentators could be commentating the same way they do on football or cricket but not as boring.

someting like this.

your playing as say........... capt falcon and you just falcon punched bowser friggin 1000 meters on hyrule temple.

and they would say someting like"falcon sends bowser miles with his devistating signature move !!! " and the crows like "WOAH!!!!"

And then your like " SHOW ME YA MOVES"

and you can hear the crowd in the background like AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH FALCON (clap clap clap) FALCON (clap clap clap) and the commetators are havin a chat to each other sayin "Hey mike the crowd sure loves falcon huh?" "yeah jerry ever since he did that show me ya moves the crowd have been crazy about him" .

and then bowser is trying to return the comentators are like "will Bowser make it back?" and the crowd is like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" then he makes it back and the comentators are like "bowser just makes the platform and continues the brawl". and depending on weather the crowd are chering for him or not they would be like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY or AWWWWWWWWWW.

and then they would talk about the match highlights at the end.

so it someting like taking the crowd to a whole new level with the commentators working with the crowd.

l

so what do you think yey or ney?

You'd need a darn good announcer for it, and even then, it'd get annoying after a while.

no, but it would be cool at first ¯\°.O/¯

ya, it would get old after a while...just let us turn it off, and im ok with it.

though, dynamic sound effects would be kinda cool. like, if you hit someone hard enough, there is a bass rumble that lasts for a good few seconds. if there is a large explosion (currently roys flare blade for example)....IF you hit someone, there is a (moderately soft) "ringing" for like 7 seconds. if someone is 10+ feet below the stage, there could be a bass flucuating.

Nah, it'd probably get repetitive, old and distracting after a while. Plus, it'd take too much effort and disc space to put in something that probably will be turned off anyway.

Putting in commentary would change the SSB "feel" more than we may realize...it would make it seem like this stuff is actually happening in a timelime, which may lead to a tournament-ish storyline which Brawl doesn't need. I may be rambling here, but that's how I feel.

Haha, I think it'd be a neat idea, but only for the first five matches. It doesn't really fit with the spirit of Brawl to me, but you can always get an obnoxious friend to holler stuff like that while you play the game anyways, right?

Hehe, I agree with most people. Having played Pokemon Stadium a few times, I can testify that it got old after.. two games.
I would like some more effects than the chanting and the occasional "ooh", but I'd like it even more if it actually started doing that stuff when appropriate.

The announcer in Pokemon Stadium wasn't really annoying to me, but It would be out of place to have commentaries in Brawl. Computers had hard enough time trying to understand what you're trying to do and sometimes, the crowd cheers someone on for almost no good reason at all. Based on that, I would believe that the announcer would sound very scatterbrained and overall very distracting.

It doesn't sound too 'smashy'. I remember Timesplitter's FP added an announcer, he mainly says one-liners but after a while it's frigging annoying. In Smackdown vs Raw the commentators are good at first but they slowly but surely become annoying.

I don't think Brawl needs it.

EDIT: It's also frigging distracting, I remember a stood in the way of Fox's fsmash yesterday because a bunch of guys were shouting about Mario Kart. I was pissed because I was going to avoid it -_-

Maybe it could just be a function on the Pokemon Stadium stage. Otherwise, no. It would make the game seem too... commercialized. There would be too many recordings and situational transmissions to make. It would be easier to have someone watch the match and comment instead.

Dumbest. Idea. Ever.

I think they should either remove crowd chants altogether, or at least make them rewarding. In ssb64 the crowd was actually encouraging... in melee??

FALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLCOOOOOOOOOOOOO

FALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLCOOOOOOOOOOOOO

GANNNNNNONNNNNDORRRRRRRFFFFFFF

Its like, WTF are you making fun of me?

Also, the crowd cheers for stupid reasons. Like, if you hit your oponnent with 6 shffled uairs with captain falcon to edgeguard to ledgehop knee recovery or something, they say jack ****. Ive noticed all you have to do is be at high percentage and HIT the guy. The crowd has no idea whats going on in smash, they suck.

But an announcer??? Get real. Even the MLG announcers failed in smash and they're humans who slightly knew the game. (See Ken vs PC chris finals MLG for refence, as thats what im describing)

''Ken is using marth which is a... human type character'' Ya no **** sherlock. MLG blows for that.

the only commentary that is done on smash brothers is the ones at the MLG. other then that it just becomes really repititve and boring like when you play hockey over 100 times on a consol and you hear them say that same things you get bored. and brawl can really be advanced into play like wavedashing. are they going to say "oh he wavedashed and crap" i dont think so

Super Smash Bros. Brawl featuring Bob Uecker? Sounds interesting, but there'd have to be an option to turn it off.

Plus, there'd have to be a lot of varieties of commentary. Maybe something you could download via the Wii Shop Channel.
