Not bad... I like the Yoshi, and the combo video was okay. Nothing impressive and some obvious signs that your opponent wasn't very good, but good job putting in the effort to make a combo highlights vid.

Hey hey...I was doin my best!
Just two things that'll help you out real quick - firstly, never recover from low near the edge with Kirby. The top of his head is the most vulnerable spot on him when he's in the air and it's way to easy to knock you out of your jumps or up+b from this spot. If your opponent is on the stage, recovering like this is often suicide.

Secondly, in this game you should never be missing techs unless by choice. I noticed in the combo vid he got a lot of free hits in because you missed techs. In smash64 you can actually mash z before landing to tech, unlike melee where you have to time it better. While over time you won't be mashing it as you perfect your teching, at first it might help to mash so you don't get hit by silly things that shouldn't be hitting you if you teched properly.

Cheers to both players, and come play online at some point

You were right the music was epic :).
As a fox player I'd like to say that you should really get landcancelled shines down pat, it lets you chase your opponent much easier when you hit them. Also Z-cancelling turns fox into a combo machine lol.
Pretty nice job.

Yoshi vid was good, with semi-intelligent enemies.

Second vid featured so many noobs it was sort of silly. Just watch the life ratios. Seriously, a tech here or there would mean your combo could've failed. And also, crouching with Falcon on the edge is a pretty obvious sign...

Still, nice to see Luigi getting some love.

Yea I could DJC more, but I don't think my Yoshi is by any means mediocre. I know my opponents missed lots of crucial techs, and could have avoided many things, but no combos?

Yoshi up-tilt to dair x2 to down-b (or up-smash) is inescapable. DI or not

Captain's grab to uairs to up-b is inescapable. DI or not
(he did miss a platform tech on Yoshi's Island)

I'm trying to get playing online soon for better comp, but right now I'm just playing within my means dude.
(aka my friends that only play Melee and fail at 64 lol)

If you live in Orlando(as do I) I'm within your means. My Yoshi is decent.

I play ssb64, melee, and brawl competitively.

Sweet, yea obviously I have very little experience, and would have none if tank hadn't made me sit down and play.

It's definitely more enjoyable than brawl. But melee is still my favorite game.

I was trying out all the characters, but would like to main samus, any advice for her?

And if you doods live near by we are constantly playing smash and we should definitely get together!

Btw, could someone explain to me how teching works in this game? Like...is there 40 seconds delay like in melee? can you tech in hit lag? pretty much if anyone knows the window for tech let me know might give me more mental confidence about it.

To be honnest, these videos are realllly boring because of how bad your opponents are. Play people who can techroll for the love of god. The first falcon vs fox combo where you end up stomping him on sector z's left side made me sad. You can do so much more than that with falcon, especially vs fox.

So you and your friends live in Orlando/Lake Mary and play competitive melee? Have you guys been to any gigs? If you have I might have played you. I've been going to melee gigs for 4 years now.

Anyway I've played ssb64 online for over 4 years and I've always tried to get Orlando melee players into ssb64 but none of them have never really gotten into it.

But yah I'd come play ssb64, melee, or brawl with you guys.

dont main her, she's like the worst in the game. I mean, you will find it diffuclt to beat a better opponent than you with her. However shes still an interesting char

Yea after playing her I did find some faults, but I would like to learn her somewhat. I'll probably pick her and one of the top tiers. I've no qualms about being at a disadvantage :p

And yes, I live in lake mary and so does TANK. Personally I've been to a few gigs, I think two for melee, and one for brawl *where all I did was sit in the back and play melee*
I've always been a purple samus, tag has varied though, I doubt we've played, but hope to in the future!

Everyone plan on attending florida gaming?

Oh wow yet another forum *** who insults instead of explaining the reason of disagreement... geez. Wanna get 1 point?
I'm not going to explain it. Instead, I'll just add you to my block list to save me time.

Samus may be the worst but in this game skill is more important than the matchup. If you are crazy with Samus (or camp like a beach) you can beat anybody

If you become insane with Samus you can even beat good Pikachus easily.. The best player is the one that has advantage over others... No matter if you use Samus or Link. Just do it.

Alright, I get it, any tips for doing so? lol
Or basic tips for 64 in general? Like what to avoid, what to punish, what to do, generic stuff.

I remember Jaime-HR mentioning using DownB for edgeguarding Mario. The only fancier Samus thing I know. XD

Also, bomb jumping exists but is different. You get the boost by using one bomb, so it's just keep doing it while holding right. And it kills your second jump, so jump first.

Down B isn't as good at edgeguarding Mario as you'd think. Samus just spawns the bombs too slowly to catch up with the timing on Mario's upB.

Samus can't even do the "Mario edgeguard" (edgehog, if you see mario going to land on the platform, you get up and grab and backthrow), due to Samus's grab being ridiculously slow. In General Samus is probably one of the worst at edgeguarding Mario and she needs to do a well predicted intercept off stage or a well timed Dair against Mario's upB.

The thing is that when most characters get up to grab they at least have some invincibility frames to help them time it easier to edgeguard mario. If Samus ledgehops, she has to time it even better.

Tires do exits. But what really matters is that car riding on those tires. Essentially. And when your car is an Alancitu model you've got a real **** machine.

...are you one of the people who says "don't main a low tier" since you won't win with them...or main metaknight in brawl since no one else matters.

Yoshi up-tilt to dair x2 to down-b (or up-smash) is inescapable. DI or not
.

The yoshi one does not work. Trust me, I am a yoshi main as well. Up tilt to down air only works if someone is really bad at DI.

The only moves that are easy to DI out of in smash 64 are drill based moves...such as:
Kirby's, Yoshi's, Fox's, Mario's, Luigi's, and Jigglypuff's down airs.
