^agreed

only prob is all the rich alumni that are the main funders like the old fashioned system

and its very traditional.

but a bracket would just be so epic. top 16 go into a national playoff.

its too much to ask any football to be healthy and knowledgeable to play more than 3-4 games in the playoffs

That's BS.
Michigan lost to Oregon at home by a wide margin and to a Div. II school early in the year. That is in no way a top team. Again the BCS feels like the top conferences need 2 or 3 teams ranked at a time. I'd bet BYU, Utah and New Mexico could all beat Michigan.

GA Tech beating the Miami Hurricanes is hard for me to swallow. The 'Canes used to be good before Hurricane Andrew....

So let me take a look here, BYU and Utah can beat Pac 10 teams handily and they have also shown they can play big schools. Did you not see Utah beat UCLA 44-6? Or BYU near shut out Arizona?

Michigan is not a good football team, if BYU and Utah scheduled Division 2 schools for their out of conference they (the Div. 2 team) wouldn't even be in the game.

Have you noticed that big conference schools often times look better than they are? They all play Div. 2 schools and tiny conference schools which gives them a win (unless you're Michigan) and also show a blowout schoool making them look better.

I am convinced however that now USF does deserve their ranking, I now know a little more about them.

Michigan is not a top 25 team though, if they are ranked then Mountain West teams should be ranked. The BCS is a completely biased poll system where people vote based on which conference someone is in and margin of victory even if it is over a school outside the Bowl Championship Series division.

BYU has a weak opponent this week but, after this it is a tough road.
We've still got Utah, Wyoming, TCU (who is shockingly not good), Colorado St., San Diego State and if I remember correctly 2 more Pac 10 teams.

I can agree with the bracket system. There are what, like 58 teams that go to bowl games now? Why not just set up a 64 team bracket? Some people said it would take too long, but the bowl season itself is already just over a week long, coming close to 2 weeks long now. I don't think time wise should make a difference in making a bracket style "bowl" season.

Wyoming is doing surprisingly good this year, and I hope they get another good bowl game this year, and I won't underestimate them. By the way, who did they beat last year in their bowl? BYU once again has a decent season. Colorado State is terrible this year, they've yet to win a game, the same with SDSU, they've won a couple, but still horrible.

I'm really hoping Illinois whomps on Michigan this weekend. I'd really love to see Michigan in some crappy bowl, and still get beat by some 6 or 7 win team.

I'm also looking forward to seeing who Colorado get to a bowl this year, despite their next three games as being the toughest (#13 Kansas, #24 Texas Tech, and #16 Missouri in that order). Colorado is another one of those teams that have great potential to finish out their season. If they can beat Oklahoma (although I still look upon that day as being as horrible as the loss to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl), then they can beat these three teams.

As for USF, I still see them playing for the National Championship, as they should be 12-0 when they go in.

Notre Dame? I think they have a chance against a USC team that now has a few vulnerable spots.

LSU had an AMAZING victory tonight where they were down by 1 with the score 24-23. One AMAZING pass in the end zone for a 24-30 victory. I don't even like football and I was impressed. Though, College football is so much better than pro, because College kids play for the love it (and to stay in school) where as pro just want money.

Tigers' win last night was awesome. I had no idea what happened, I had to rewind. Instead of putting us into field position for a 35~ field goal, Flynn just threw the ball in for an amazing touchdown. The announcers kept saying how they wouldn't have had time for another play (field goal) afterwards, but I do think that if he had overthrown the ball, we would have had a good three seconds to kick.

But wow, it was awesome. All you need is second place to play in the championship.

Chokies. lol. ^_^

I still don't see how the one player couldn't catch the ball on the onside kick. It looked like he pretty much hit it away.

1. Virg Tech fails so hard for letting BC get away with win

2. LSU has t3h Ph1R3

3. Boo the BCS. Im all for a tournament style bracket. I think they should retain the bowls, but each bowl could be assigned a different game in the overall bracket and every year they alternate. This way, the system still generates money but there is less controversy

haven't been on in awhile, but man my Tigers have been doing good.

A 3 OT loss to UK hurt, but other then that, its been fine. Close win over UF, a game that I was at, I traveled all the way from Gainesville FL for it (yes, I'm an LSU fan that lives in Gator town  )

Then another big win over Auburn, with what has to be one of the strangest calls that I've ever seen, going for a TD instead of a FG, but lol, w/e

And now we got Alabama. Big rivalry, plsu the return of Nick Saban..................should be a great game.

ugh, I don't know what to think of Nick. He won us a few SEC championships, and of course a National Championship (I was at that game, it was amazing).

But then not only did he ditch us for freakin Miami, but he left soon afterwards.........................for ALABAMA?? Have some decency and at least stay away from the SEC West.

I guess I'm "meh" about Nick, what about you?

Just like everyone else, I was his fan while he was with LSU. Nick "C'est Bon" and all that jazz. (I wasn't at the bowl championship game, but my relatives were, and were on tv during the national anthem. we are so american it kills me. and then resurrects me.)

When he took the job with Miami I just decided that as long as he did well, I would be happy for him, y'know? We still had a good team, and we went 11-2 with Les Miles, so I was okay. But then Saban didn't do that well at Miami... and got a job with Bama... Talk about a weird day.

I guess he just couldn't leave the SEC. :lick:

LSU pwns (well not really theyve won some pretty close games in amazing fashion against the rest of the sec)

LSU plays like a ranked team every weekend, meanwhile all these other top ranked teams play a bunch of noobs (I may be exagerating this a bit but LSU definetly has the hardest schedule and only 1 loss to a ranked kentucky team in triple overtime)

im thinking New bcs rankings

1. Ohio State
2.LSU
3.Oregon
4.Oklaoma
5.Kansas

not to increase the bias rating of this thread, but it should really be Oregon and LSU right now... true, OSU is undefeated and you cant argue with that, but there is clearly a difference in schedules between Oregon and LSU vs OSU

SEC is the best conference, with the Pac-10 as a fairly close second.

Think about, now even Kentucky (the former cupcake SEC team) is pretty good.

LSU, UF, UGA, Auburn, Alabama, UT, UK, Arkansas, and South Carolina are all decent/good/great teams.

the only cupcakes that the SEC has are Vandy, MSU, and Ole Miss, and even those teams could prob. do well in weaker conferences.

and BTW, what an amazing game that LSU had, I was really doubting that we could pull it through, but we did,

Finally Arkansas has pulled their heads out. With a win this weekend over Tennessee (which will happen) we will be back on the polls. And, McFadden rushed for 323 yards in one night. Arkansas and SEC record which was held by people like Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson and Emmitt Smith. Welcome back to the Heisman race McFadden.

Ohio looks good, but they also looked good last year. What happened when an SEC team came in? If they go on to play LSU for the championship what do you think will happen?

Well, after seeing what happened tonight, its looking like #1 LSU, #2 Oregon. I didn't expect Ohio State to lose to Illinois... I thought we might get lucky and they would lose against Michigan, but looks like that won't have to happen. :)

LSU is completely in control of their own destiny now.

Yeah look at LSU's last two games. Ole Miss and us. They will have no problems making the national championships.

We lost Jones last night for the rest of the season with a deep thy bruise. I personally want LSU to go all the way. Sucks they didnt do it with Russell.
