You beat me to it. I was just about to post this. I've been playing Cloud for about 2 weeks now and I plan on maining him. I'd appreciate any kind of feedback on my match and plan to post some more in the future.

You need to space aerials better. Charge limit when your in the air in short intervals. Use OOS Climhazzard and cross slash to punish instead of grabs, and use LB cross slash more. Much better than the LB neutral B. Also, just charge limit and force pit on to you.

Im from GA too! Glad you didnt air dodge. People just dont know -__-

I learned more watching you play than anyone else so far. Seems like when your percent got high fatality resulted to using jab combos just to get you off stage. His percent was high and he started to risk way more when he got 0 raptor boosts on you. You took advantage well. I liked your neutral. You tried to go from an aerial limit charge to nair and got pusnished. Maybe if you had done that and jumped again you could have baited him. Your uairs and nairs were fleek. Matches were close and tres chic!

From a really quick glance, your U-Air game is good, you got good reactions and great punishes.

I think the only real thing that I could see wrong with your game was that you are kind of predictable when being juggled or comboed. I didn't notice anything wrong about neutral (in fact I saw a lot of things I will introduce into my own game, so thanks for that), but when you were on disadvantage stage it seemed like you always reacted in the same way (mostly D-Airs and predictable jumps).

I don't know if it's just that Falcon can't challenge D-Air very well (haven't really analyzed MUs that deep yet), but anything that gets predicted can be punished.



Good games though. Going to learn what I can from those videos.

Hey guys, I'd like to get some critique on things I could've done better in this set.

Despite what anyone one the boards say, I have to say that your cloud is pretty dam good. Getting as you did to beating Fatality, particularly with a new character is no joke. The big thing I can tell you is to try to not sit in shield too much, and use nair more. It sort of acts like a shiek fair which is the main reason why shiek bodies falcon. Probably the most optimal way to fight falcon is to use nair to gimp him off stage, sort of like shiek fairing him off. That nd you hold onto LB a lil too much. You died off stage once because you refused to use it and also didnt get a free 30 % off of a low percent dthrow with LB. (I'm pretty sure it hits falcon at 17%, correct me if I'm wrong there).

Otherwise really good, keep improving!

thanks guys for the input! Changing my landing habits is something I'm trying to work on because i was even noticing them mid match. As for dthrow to LB side b, i was testing this in the lab just now and I'm pretty sure that this is never guaranteed. I generally don't want to end up wasting limit against a player like fatality. (although dthrow to LB side b may have worked, just not guaranteed, I assumed that this combo is what most clouds do so he should be aware of it and just move or something) But I will go for more nair edgeguards!

IMO, the biggest thing I can say is that you use the LB a little too haphazardly. In that, you spend so much effort charging it, and then you just waste it shortly after. The idea is sort of like, was it really worth hitting your opponent with LB neutral B if you took 20% amount of punishment because you focused so much in charging LB. Again imo, sneaking in charges is fine, but the point of LB is to either kill of the opponent, or save you from dying. I personally think Cloud might actually be better in the neutral without LB. He has access to all of his specials and can use two aerials (uair and nair) out of a single hop. LB Cloud is obviously better at recovering and killing, so I'd use the LB for that.

Hmmm.... this MU might be looking quite rough for Cloud. Thank god Dragon Lunge and Dragon Fang are both very punishable for him. Normal Blade Beam also might be one of our most useful tool in this fight if only to help in controlling space.

EDIT: After playing this myself now... it's actually not as bad as I thought it would. More or less even really.

I would say if you are going use fair in the neutral make sure to space it out properly, but I wouldn't use it that often. Same thing with down airs except those are more safe especially when spaced correctly. Try to charge your limit break when you can and instead of rolling try using short hop instead.

Hey everyone. Haven't been on Smashboards in a looong time. I've just recently started to take Sm4sh a lot more seriously and have been casually playing Cloud for the past couple months.
