Clans for Brawl?

I thought about a co-op but then i realized, isn't that almost the same as 2 player? I think a co-op would be WAY to easy

Maybe you could use co-op by having you and a friend in the same room, playing someone and their friend in wereever they are.

How about an option for sub-crews within a clan? Say, uniting all the crews in X_state under one name, but keeping the crews united and ranking them within the clan through online matches.

So like each crew has little crew divisions?

Sub crew? That would kind of bring out the competetion of the whole thing, wouldn't you say? Plus it sounds like a "I'm better than you" type of deal. I think it should stay simple, with single crews battling for top place. You get into all these divisions, and it's bound to get messy.

Having clans is a great idea. Online clan battles, a ranking ladder. It's such a great idea that it would be a pretty huge no-brainer. They can't NOT at least try and add this into Brawl's online

That is, of course. Until the hackers come. I can see lots of people doing some pretty drastic things to climb the ladder. That might not be good...

The sub clan idea is also pretty neat. You'd have the "Alliance" something like "The (insert place name here) Smash players from the whole state/province", and then within that group, you would have all the specific smash crews. That would open up possibilities for tons of different ranking ladders. A crew ladder, as well as a ladder for the top state/province. Based off of win percentage, or something like that.

And then there's the issue of how smooth Brawl's online will be. If it ends up being mediocre, then all our ideas go down the drain, which of course makes this all very unlikely. Simple online play is hard to create, so adding too much could make it impossible.

Yea lag would easily ruin a match big time...But I play my DS on my DSL connection sometimes and hav'nt had to many problems. Id rather not have a rank system, it's like dropping a sweet innocent little bunny in a bear den full of lame cheaters. Plus when you are actaully trying to get your rank up like a good samaritan, at the end of a match losers LOVE to drop out so as not to effect that oh so precious rank.

To heck with a ranking system I say!

Id glady give up chat rooms, and all the systems if it meant a lag free connection

True, I couldn't agree more about the cheaters and quitters. Of course, they could moderate that. They could make severe repercussions for quitting, and they could try and keep tabs on any hacker community that develops.

The clan idea is a good one, if they could incorporate it well, and smoothly, it would be awesome. But actually, when I re-think it over, the real question may be "Is it worth it?"

I have just an itty bitty group, not really offically a crew but we just play each other a lot, it spans from Fredericksburg VA to Richmond VA (thats about 40 mins apart)

I don't think Falco is going to be in Brawl. Why make leaders?

Besides, Nintendo is probly going to make some gay thing where you'd have to add a 12 digit friend code for EVERY person you'd want to fight with your clan. What's the point, really?

I'd bet money on the friend code thing. Its really meant to protect little kids, there hearts are in the right place but it is pretty annoying.

ive read an article somewhere stating that brawl will be using the codes, but i forgot where...ill try and find it.

Omg, I just got an idea on how to use the whole clan in 1 game

1) find a clan
2) submit a certain amount of players for each team (must be same)
3) substitute players if need be.
4) if one player is wounded then the other play can play with their character.

I think that before each fight. Their should be a cutscene that shows little facts about each character fighting then it should show every character from their respective series in a huddle and messaging their shoulders or something, like in Boxing

Whats wrong with clans, have you read about what a clan/crew is? Its basically just a bunch of friends that like playing eachother, whats wrong with that? Do you not like it just because the group likes to play eachother online?

Crew Battles are amazingly fun, keeping them online would be a cool thing, maybe they could even make it so it automatically recognizes it. Like a crew battle mode ya know. Who knows
