Along with what WoZ said, he like... created LUE, man. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. Gamefaqs was such a large part of my childhood, and it feels like i'm losing something big now.

Well, he's the guy who created the website, and the website is quite a bit more than simply the forums.

I'm not sure what will happen now that he's left. I've never been very involved in the community on Gamefaqs, so as long as I can find out whatever I need to know, any changes aren't going to bother me much.

Mic, normally I wouldn't say this to you, but please shut the **** up. The site is quite a lot more than game boards (which are horrible). I have made many friends there on a certain secret board, and not to mention the experiences i've had with LUE (which you can't access unfortunately, so you have no business making generalizations about Gamefaqs as a whole).

I registered when I was 12, and now I'm entering college. It's amazing how much GF has shaped my personality. This announcement comes at a time where there are big changes in my life as well, so maybe I'm making a bigger deal out of this than I need to. But calling a website that not only have i spent a third of my life on but also infinitely more interesting and dynamic than SWF "crap" I object to.

I'm indifferent on the matter. Let's be honest, CJayC never interacted with the users (except the LUEsers, and even that was rare).

It shouldn't effect the common GFAQs user.

Though I agree it won't affect the common GFAQs user, he DID create an extremely popular site that has brought many, many people together. IMO it's somewhat of a step in taking gaming to a higher level, and we should see this "retirement" from GFAQs with a little respect, as he DID, again, do something great for the gaming community, regardless of how often he interacted with us.

Here's to hoping he has a good future, maybe he'll stop by every so often just say wassup.

Yeah, it seems pretty ignorant to call Gamefaqs crap just because some of the more popular games have boards that are mostly filled with random fads. It's called GameFAQS, there's much more to it than the boards and even there you're still able to get a decent answer to any questions you may have regarding the games. Lots of biased opinions there, but people like that exist everywhere, also on SWF. Not what I'd expect from you, Mic.

It's too bad CJayC is leaving, but it doesn't really matter as long as things stay as they are. Btw, CJayC absolutely despises LUE, which is the reason no one new can get into it anymore, he wants it to die. Personally, I'm also not very fond of LUE, but I do like LUElinks. =]

We all know that LUE is his favorite board now. It's the first one he goes to when he wants user feedback. A moderator was actually caught saying that LUEsers had a higher chance of becoming mods.

I've never been very involved with GameFAQs, but I've certainly used the FAQs on it more times than I could possibly count over the years. In all of them I see some acknowledgment or thanks given to CJayC, so I can reasonably assume this is a big loss for GFAQs. That is unfortunate. Even the boards can be helpful at times when you wade through all the crap (I never really posted on them... just read them sometimes).

Gamefaqs has always helped me as a gamer. Good stuff, and though I dont know this guy, I should at least appreciate what he's created. Honestly, I used to go to a site called Cheatplanet before finding Gamefaqs. It was terrible.
