I can't wait for this to come out. I'm pretty sure there are eighteen days left. I've never owned Chrono Trigger in any of its recreations, so thisis pretty amazing. All the extra features seem fun, too.

Has anyone ever played Chrono Cross for the PS1?
No, but I heard it was incredibly lagtastic. Also, it contained anime FMVs and a monster bestiary (both of which will be on DS, not the lag though).

I think it came in Final Fantasy Anthologies (?) or something to that effect. I know Final Fantasy IV was bundled in, because there was a guide I read for both of those games in one.
TimeSmash, he's talking about Chrono Cross. Chrono Cross is a sequel (but not a direct sequel) to Chrono Trigger. You're referring to the Chrono Trigger port in Final Fantasy Chronicles. The port wasn't "lagtastic", it just had longer load times.

I have played Chrono Cross. It's a very fun game that's very different from the original. The game is really fun. However, you won't like it if you keep thinking that it's too different from CT though. It's one of those games where you have to remember that it's its own game.

Agreed, Chrono Cross is a great game into itself, but when you play it, you can't expect it to play and be exactly like Chrono Trigger. It has a lot of differences, but the game it very good I'd say, and the soundtrack is amazing (not to mention that guy with the twin swords who can wreck everything). Just yeah, don't expect it to be like a Suikoden 1- Suikoden II type thing. I'm hoping that Chrono Trigger DS brings attention back to the series and that we FINALLY get a new Chrono game (I mean, they can do like, what 3, 4 separate FF7 related games before they do a sequel to Chrono Cross?), especially since from what I last heard a good number of people on the team who made it said they'd want to make another one, and the music composer for the Chrono games has said he wanted to compose some new stuff for them too...I think.

Sorry about that, I was distracted when I wrote that past quote. Thanks for telling me though about the loading times,; I was considering buying the Ps1 port before I heard the DS news and I asked around. People really did not like the lag.

I borrowed Chrono Cross from a friend but didn't get very far, only to the part where you get Hydra Humour. I've heard much of the game's score, however, and I love it. Time's Scar and Dream Boarding the Shore of Another World are both on my Mp3 player.

Chrono Break was supposed to be a sequel to Chrono Trigger, but that was discontinued about five years ago. I read about it, and part of the reason it's so hard to make a Chrono game is because it's difficult to get the Dream Team back together. But a DS release can give us hope for the future. ;)

I picked up the game earlier today, and I'm getting ready to play it.
I also got my pre order bonus that came with the game (A CD with two tracks).

Sadly, I accidentally looked at who/what the secret boss is for the DS this morning. It's awesome, that's all I have to say.
