Smash Hero
No matter how Chorus Kids look, there will still be people complaining about "deserving" their spot and all that jazz.
But to be honest, Chorus Kids really do deserve a spot in Smash.
First off, they can potentially have one of the most creative and fun movesets in the game. Rhythm based mechanics and goofy facial expressions galore, surely that will win many fans over.
And of course Rhythm Heaven is quite big. 3 games (not counting arcade) and millions of copies sold, it's one of the most notable new Nintendo IPs from Brawl to Smash 4 and I'm happy that it's finally getting the attention it deserves.
Also, surprisingly, people will recognize the Chorus Kids. Many people played Rhythm Heaven DS, and Glee Club is perhaps the most well known and loved out of the whole bunch. After starting to play the game again back in April or so, I brought it up to my friends. One of the first things my friend jumped to was the cute little guys who went "aah". Even my mom says she recognized them, but that may have to do with my Rhythm Heaven obsession.
But people have no reason to complain about Chorus Kids. They're chock full of potential and hilarity, and I'm sure that they will prove to be a fan-favorite addition later on. Even if your favorite character didn't make it in, it's not because of Chorus Kids. Chances are they aren't from Rhythm Heaven, and I personally only see competition within series. Chorus Kids may have gotten in over your favorite character (who may or may not have been planned to begin with), but so did a bunch of other characters. Little Mac, Palutena, and Mega Man also got in over whoever it is you may be butthurt about not making the cut. No need to pin the blame on Chorus Kids, who are clearly more "deserving" than you may have thought.
And the "you" in the last paragraph really isn't towards anyone in particular: just the inevitable Smash fan who wants to blameRidley's another character's exclusion on Chorus Kids.
